I am a recent graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in History and Minor in Psychology. Having worked in a variety of organizations, the diversity of which have provided me strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work independently and as an effective team member. Also, I have educational and lived experiences with Indigenous peoples of Alberta. My program’s focus on Indigenous peoples in western Canada has given me exceptional insight into their distinct histories and modern cultures. While there is still much for me to learn about Alberta’s Indigenous communities, I have a solid foundation in which to build on and a passion to continue learning. I recognize the important role, and growing influence, Indigenous peoples have in Alberta and believe that the many challenges Indigenous peoples face represent opportunities for learning and growth. Through my understanding of Indigenous history I have empathy and understanding of the challenges facing them as individuals and communities. I want to be part of a team that brings about positive change for Indigenous communities, and helps Alberta grow stronger together.

If selected for a position, I am confident that this internship would have a profound impact on my career.
