It was a sunny day and I was particularly excited about this day because it had been raining for two weeks and this was the first sunny day yet. As an average 10 year old, I was thrilled to see what kind of mischief I could get myself into on such a beautiful day. Little did I know what events were about to unfold on this day. I called my next-door neighbor Alena to go play. I quickly grabbed got ready and sprinted across the street to her house. She met me at the front door, beaming with excitement. “You ready?” I asked. “Yeah, but lets go tell Mom.” She replied. So we walked into the kitchen and explained what we had planned for the day to her mother. Alena lives beside a church on a Christmas tree farm that her family owns and operates, so…show more content… Sam! We are going to the hospital right now! Get in the truck!” My mother screamed. We rushed to the hospital and arrived in the emergency room. We got taken into a room and my mom was in the hall talking to a nurse while my hand was soaking in Iodine. Alena and I started whispering back and forth until it was time for my stitches.
“So what happened here?” The nurse asked as she was giving me my stitches.
“I got bit by a zombie.” I replied with a serious tone.
“She got bit by a zombie” Alena agreed. My mother walked back into the room just as the infuriated nurse pulled her to the side.
“These girls are saying your daughter has been bitten by a zombie. If I don’t get the truth we are going to have to call child services immediately” She angrily stated.
“No, no that is not necessary. She threw a rusty piece of metal and it ripped open her hand.” My mother reassuringly replied. The nurse came back in and finished all 12 of my stitches. That day I left the hospital and learned many lessons but the most important lesson is don’t lie to hospital staff or mothers about getting bitten by a zombie because that makes them really mad. On the Brightside, I now have an epic scar and an even better story to go with
