Joy desperately reaches out for the emergency phone in the lift and uses it to strike Zachariah’s head. He yells a dreary cry for help and feels his head as there is now a piercing pain running through his body. He tries swinging the knife at her, but she stops him this time by using the rough edges to stab him. Blood splatters onto the lift doors and floor. She is puffing and panting, looking very wild eyed just as people rush over to see what the racket has been. Everyone looks down confused and astonished at the three bodies shedding blood as she continues to be in a hysterical state.
The occupants at the posh apartment residency help to carry the victims one by one into the ambulance that has arrived. They are carried to the hospital in a last desperate dash to save their lives. As this unfolds Joy gets handcuffed and taken into police custody unscathed.
Qualified detective Alexander Newberg of age 42 is frantically bestowed to the scene. He then goes to see the lift operator to be questioned as he finds that he was responsible for losing his cool when he was on the phone with the head of the police department. The detective asks what happened to the lift. In which he replies that two times the power went out and so after the second time it got stuck for a period of time. He asks what the reason for it to get stuck was, “due to mechanical problems which I’ve previously fixed” he responds. Next he is asked whether this happens often, he says that he is pretty new and before this he said people have told him there have been problems. He is then granted permission to leave, in which he does
