The author of my primary source is by Alexander Toponce. What was purpose of the document? Is to inform people about Alexander Toponce life and what was going on in his life while he was growing up. It starts out by giving some background information about Alexander Toponce. Then it starts to talk about Corinne and Blue Creek and what kind places and what kind of people lived there. They liked to call the toughest place that had the toughest people “Dead Fall”. It had the worst kind of people one would not want to be around. But it was seen as normal to have tough drunk and violent people who gambled. He then starts to talk about the Gold Spike and how it affected the people living there at the time. When the spike was driven all of the construction was stopped and Blue Creek was gone. But they were able to survive and pick right back up to normal as usual. Toponce then follows it up with some more information about the Gold spike and how it was driven at Promontory Utah and how the Gold Spike could have even been moved up by a couple of week. And then he goes on to talk about Central Pacific, Ogden. He ends talking about before and after the spike driving ceremony. He was forced to close the bargain since there were no other wagons for sale. After dealing with the whole situation with the wagon he seen Mrs. S. It then goes on with his day talking about all the things he dealt with and purchased. The historical significance of this document is that it gives good information of general knowledge things going on at that day in time. Personally it shows the life of a Kansas homesteader and his priorities and
