Mendoza Aliza Joana D. Cuenca PSY 106, BS Psychology 321 Mrs. Marjorie S. Villa Word Formulation 2 Abstract This experiment looked at the Effects of the Presence of Flashcards with Jumbled Letters to the Word Formulation. The participants has a total population of 48 Grade 3 pupils at Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The population is divided into two groups by randomization: 24 pupils in the control group and 24 pupils in the experimental group since the researchers used the between subjects design. The control group received the normal way of giving spelling activity, the oral dictation of words. The experimental group received also the oral dictation of words but they are also shown flashcards with jumbled letters of the words that are being spelled. The computed value of t was – 1.7 and is less than the tabular value, 2.021 with df of 46 and the α of .05. This means that the presence of flashcards with jumbled letters has no significant effect on the word formulation of Grade 3 pupils. Word Formulation 3 Methodology This experiment was conducted at Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Sta. Cruz, Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The subjects of the experiment were taken from the total population of 48 pupils of Grade 3. They were randomly divided into two...

...A compound word is made when two words are joined to form a new word. Definition In English, words, particularly adjectives and nouns, are combined into compound structures in a variety of ways. And once they are formed, they sometimes metamorphose over time. A common pattern is that two words — fire fly, say — will be joined by a hyphen for a time — fire-fly — and then be joined into one word — firefly. In this respect, a language like German, in which words are happily and immediately linked one to the other, might seem to have an advantage. There is only one sure way to know how to spell compounds in English: use an authoritative dictionary. There are three forms of compound words: the closed form, in which the words are melded together, such as firefly, secondhand, softball, childlike, crosstown, redhead, keyboard, makeup, notebook; the hyphenated form, such as daughter-in-law, master-at-arms, over-the-counter, six-pack, six-year-old, mass-produced; and the open form, such as post office, real estate, middle class, full moon, half sister, attorney general. How a word modified by an adjective — "a little school," "the yellow butter" — is different from a compound word — " a high school," "thepeanut butter" — is a nice and philosophical question. It clearly has something to do with the degree to which the preceding word changes the essential character of the noun, the degree to which the modifier and the noun are inseparable. If you were diagramming a sentence with a...

Plata Jodel L. Talabis Monica Cleo C. Panganiban Alyssa Keith M. Panganiban Owen Karl V. Santos Chapter 1 Background Study Introduction The beginning of perfume use can be traced back thousands of years to the early Egyptians. The first perfume we’re part of religious rituals. It was developed together with the first cosmetics, but they weren’t made to attract opposite sex; they were made the good will of the gods. The Egyptians were very spiritual people so they put containers of perfumes even in their tombs. After sometimes perfume use started becoming more personal. People started using perfume in their Baths. The oils helped to protect their skin from drying out in the hot climate. Perfume containers have always been attractive. The Egyptians treated their perfumes with great respect, and believed that only the best containers were good enough to hold them. Perfume making is passed on through the ages. When the Greeks and Romans moved in Egypt, they told the perfume oils and ointments the Egyptian used. So they quickly learned how to produce them, and started adding their own touches. Perfume makes it way around the world. The common problem in perfumes nowadays is sometimes it is very strong scented that it hurts in our noses. It also causes rushes, for those who has sensitive...

...more valuable than a rupee a year after. This is so because, in such an inflationary period a rupee today represents a greater real purchasing power than a rupee a year after. Also rupee earned today can be employed productively to generate positive returns. Let us see this by a simple illustration - Assuming a 5% interest rate, Rs. 100 invested today will be worth Rs. 105 in one year (Rs100 multiplied by 1.05). Conversely, Rs100 received one year from now is only worth Rs. 95.24 today (Rs100 divided by 1.05), assuming a 5% interest rate. This is how your money grows when invested and degrades when not invested. Now when it is invested, see the difference of earning between interest earned on simple interest method and that earned on compound interest method. To make it simpler see the diagram:-...

...Joseph Calata Early Career Path After graduating from DLSU, Joseph joined the family business as a Clerk, J. Melvin’s, a poultry feed store in Plaridel, Bulacan. It had been incorporated under the name Planters Choice Agro Products established by his parents Eusebio and Isabel in 1978. The store was named after Joseph and his older brother Melvin. Before jumping in, Joseph observed that the business was run like a sari-sari store. The core product, animal feeds, would be weighed on the spot and handed to customers, and the money was kept in a money pot or in a drawer. J. Melvin’s had branches in Malolos, but their main markets were the farmers in Plaridel. He envisioned the backyard business as a professional corporation. He bought an accounting software that took him a year to master and tailor-fit to the store. According to Joseph Calata “It was definitely trial-and-error but I wanted to prove that it could be done with patience and determination,” he said. “I asked myself, ‘Will I end up working in this store, merely giving change for animal feed?’ I decided to professionalize it. I worked 24/7. I could not make a new transaction if the previous day’s sales had not been encoded…because I saw how things would pile up. I wanted to perfect the system. I had to know how much we made every day. Was there profit? How much?” Joseph Calata was single-minded in proving that putting a system (and a paper trail) in place was the way to go. Although recording the inventory was tedious...
