Alison Schnieder's Frump or Chic? Tweed or Kente? Sometimes clothes make the Professor was based on the different views of fashion distributed throughout college from Professors to Students. Throughout the article many professors explained that you should dress based on you Career or the major you may be studying. Also, Ms Mentor explained that the way you dress "Will help determine if someone will fit into a particular institution. However, many of the professors had their own opinion on the way they dress and why. From different Races explaining the way some may prefer them to dress to Andrew Ross wearing wedge heels and a boe tie. Furthermore, The reading explained different views from many professors. They explained the way their students dressed was one way to tell if they were there to learn or to just sit. Many used their selves as examples to express their way of dressing and why. The evidence behind Chic or frumpy? was that many professor would say frumpy just so they would not think you thought to much to put into your outfit. However, some professors who dress to nice may cause students to not focus on what they have to say but in actuality what they are wearing. But in all everyone had a different view Men or Women , Black or White , Professor or Student some had and agreement and some agreed to disagree. In my Opinion, I thought The reading was informal because of the different views from many professors. I liked the fact that everyone had their own Opinion because everyone one will not agree on a topic about fashion. Many of the things the professor said were true due to how students or professors may dress in college now. Nancy K. Miller explained how Scholars hunting for jobs are expected to look far better than those who have one , while Catherine R. Stimpson explained the ways you may dress will determine your place into a particular institution.
I feel as if everyone views things differently. The way someone dresses should have a total impact thier character. Dressing Up or Down either way does not affect the way a person may think. However, many have thier own opinion about fashion. Some put a lot of thought into what they where and some may just want to be comfortable because it may just be a ordinary day. Also, No matter what Size and Race should not matter due to the fact that People will where what they want and when they want and many view may not be needed because their comfortable .
When reading the text it seemed as if some Professors judged their Staff and their students on the way they look and not how they learn or teach. I think many people love to dress how they want. Even though some may not understand why they dress the way they maydress, their thoughts are the only ones that matter. Everyone has their own way of dressing no matter what or where. Fashion has a big impact on the world today because of the way many people may dress because of their thoughts and what the love to wear.
Moreover, Race should not even be included into the fashion world because every race has their way of dressing how they want. Just because you are black does not mean you have to wear Kente , anyone can wear it because its clothing for everyone. However, i did agree on the fact that when being interview you have to watch what you where, which means no jeans and no bright heels because it attention will be focus on your clothing rather then your resume or interview. Many Professors dress up and dress down but either way their comfortable. Both Students and Professors decide on what to wear and when to where it and they both judge each other. A student may walk into class and attention may be focused on him or her,While the professor may distract the students from learning because of the way he or she may dress. Either both are a distraction at times but thats because some rather judge on the way someone dress instead of how they learn and comprehend.
In Essence, I understood different views that were made by professors and students throughout the reading about fashion because of the different opinions. I was informed on that you have to dress a certain kind of way to get into a particular institution and how to dress when going to a interview. I don't think anyone should judge on how someone may dress because everyone may have their own sense of style. In All, as we go through life clothes do not express anyone, the person who wears it expresses it.
