Abstract: In the lab, four Alka-Seltzer tablets were dropped into 150 mL beakers of water at four different temperatures. After the time it took for each tablet to dissolve was recorded, a clear trend was revealed within the data. This trend demonstrated that the water’s temperature corresponded with the rate of which the tablet dissolved; if the water’s temperature was warmer, the Alka-Seltzer would dissolve more quickly. The quickest trial, in 90°C water, took only 20.75 seconds for the tablet to dissolve, compared the longest, in 15°C water, which took 36.65 seconds. This data is applicable to the real world, giving this study scientific importance....
