Chapter 16 & 17
I highlighted a quote on page 149, chapter 16. All Ishmael remembers from his childhood now, is the violence. He loved killing and did it with ease. It became almost as easy as breathing. You can't erase it just like that but you can lighten the damage that it keeps causing you. For example for me, I think about the memory. Writing down everything I can remember about it. Then stick the paper in a drawer and leave it. When the memory comes back to you pull out the paper and go over it. When it's on paper it's just words and words can't hurt me.I realize that people lived through what ever it was, good or bad they survived.
