...The following is the case study completed in regards to Allied Office Products. Currently Allied Office Products charges customers a flat fee on product cost. This case study was performed in order to see if Allied Office Products should switch and implement the Sales Based Pricing System. “ABC” based service costs for the TFC business were calculated and Total Cost/Expense were found to be $1,550,000 Storage, $1,801,000 Requisition Handling, $ 761,000 Basic Warehouse Stock Selection, $734,000 “Pick-up” Activity, $612,000 Data entry, and $250,000 Desk Top Delivery for a total of $5,708,000. After finding the Total Cost we were able to divide that by Activity Driver Units to get the Activity Based Costs. Those costs were found to be $4.43 Storage, $5.81 Requisition Handling, $0.98 Basic Warehouse Stock Selection, $1.05 “Pick-up” Activity, $0.79 Data entry, and $29.41 Desk Top Delivery. Using the ABC Method we were able to calculate a Service Fee Amount of $8,486 for Customer A, and $23,330 for Customer B. Subtracting these totals from the Service Fee Total of $16100 found from the old method shows that Customer A was over charged $7,614 and Customer B was under charged $7,230. It would be fair then to adjust the Service Fee’s charged to each customer to the Totals found using the ABC method. Customer A was found to cost Allied Office Products less money to service, but they were also a smaller source of potential growth for the company. Customer B was found to use...

...CASE SUMMARY Allied Office Products was a corporation in business forms and specialty paper products, such as writing paper, envelopes, note cards, and greeting cards. In 1988, the company had expanded into business forms inventory management services that Allied believed it could offer value-added service to differentiate it from other business forms manufacturers. The forms manufacturing business was mature by 1988, and all competitors were seeking ways to generate sales growth. Allied embarked on a campaign to enroll its corporate clients in a program which it called “Total Forms Control” (TFC) and Allied had established a separate company within the business forms division to handle these accounts. The services provided under TFC included warehousing and distribution of forms as well as inventory control and forms usage reporting. Allied used a sophisticated computer systems network to monitor a client’s forms inventory, forms usage, and ordering activities. They provided this information to their clients via comprehensive yet simple-to-read management reports. Allied operated its forms manufacturing and TFC activities as separated profit centers. The transfer of product to TFC was at arm’s length with the transfer price set at fair market value. Although the company encouraged internal sourcing for customer orders, TFC sales people had the option of outsourcing product if necessary. The clients who participated in the forms management program were charged a service fee...

...ALLIED BATTLE STRATEGY The attack of Japan on the American fleet at Pearl Harbor resulted in the USA entry into the war in December, 1941. These were the culminating events that required the Allies forces to develop a strategy defeat of the Axis powers. The Allied forces had to work together in order to coordinate actions and win World War II. Hitler’s Germany presented the biggest threat for the Allies. The German army succeeded in its invasion into Europe and started its blitzkrieg strategy, and it seemed that Allies forces ware almost defeated by Hitler. The leaders of the USA, Britain, and Soviet Union had their own opinions on the strategy of the Allies against Axis powers. As Russia was under the threat of defeating, Josef Stalin insisted on Allies’ opening the second front in France as soon as possible. Churchill and Roosevelt claimed that they needed more time to prepare for the invasion. They were convinced that it was more effective to nibble at the edges of the German empire. Thus, they planned to bomb Germany from the air. Despite the different views, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin had a common aim to win the war, and they came to a joint resolution. During the war, the leaders met several times in order to develop a strategy of the Allies forces victory. As it was planned, in the summer of 1942, Allied forces began its attack against Axis powers. Allies planes began bombing strategic targets in Germany. ...The Allied bomber offensive against Nazi Germany remains one of the most controversial campaigns of the Second World War. It certainly was one of the most costly. By May of 1945, two million tons of bombs had fallen on Germany. Over half a million German civilians had died, and 80,000 Allied airmen had perished as well. Was the bombing strategically or morally justified? In Fire and Fury, Prof. Hansen (Toronto), a specialist in multiculturalism who has investigated the question of German civilian losses in the war and worked to counter Holocaust Denial, examines the American and British approaches to strategic bombing, and finds that the two nations used very different methods, which produced very different results. He also argues that American and British bomber generals proceeded with very different intentions, and that, in moral terms, intentions matter. In general, the British preferred to conduct area raids against urban targets at night, aimed at causing wide scale devastation of German cities. The Americans preferred daylight “precision” raids aimed at targets of military and economic significance. These generalizations had exceptions. The RAF was capable of brilliant precision, and proved this in the raids on the Ruhr dams. The American precision raids could inflict massive collateral damage and casualties on German cities. On a few occasions, the Americans resorted to area bombing, with horrific results. Hansen argues that American precision bombing...

A profession can be described as ‘A vocation...esp. one requiring advanced knowledge or training’ (p2386, Brown, 1993, vol 2), linked to this is the definition of professionalism which is ‘The body of qualities or features, as competence, skill, etc., characteristic of a profession or professional’ (p2368, Brown, 1993, vol 2). There are instances within the scenario in which each character does not adhere to the Code of Conduct and Ethics presented by the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR; SCoR, 2008). SCoR states that you should engage in the teaching and training of other members of staff, however both Rob and Asha fail to support staff within their team: Asha fails to support Rob, and Rob in turn fails to support the radiography student. SCoR specifically states that radiographers should develop the skills to be a good teacher and trainer which neither Asha...
