...Yasir Adesanya Unit 5 Assignment 1 May 14, 2016 It was a really good experience working with my peers and having them review my assignments. It’s something I use to have issues with few years ago. I am someone who typically hates criticism, I believe my ways is the best way. However, I have grown and realized there’s nothing wrong having other people review my work, notes, assignment and providing genuine and necessary feedback. In addition, it was great reviewing other’s assignment and providing needed and necessary feedback in return. It was fun at the same time having to look at my peer assignment on a professional level. I interacted with them via the discussion board and email. Initially, it was a little bit awkward but after a while I got over it as I do that at work already where I review my colleagues report blindly. The only difference was that I have seen my colleagues before compare to here where you have absolutely no idea who they are except from the brief introduction from the first day of class I read about them. I had great interactions with them where they told me amazing stories about the chosen companies and I did the same in return about Naira bakery in Brooklyn, what prompted my in law to start the company. Overall, this class has been a great experience for me in the end. Personally, working with my classmates on those assignment, chatting back and forth, and working with ideas, brainstorming, helping arrange my notes was superb...

...Amazing Grace is an inspirational movie focusing on William Wilberforce’s numerous efforts to bring an end to slavery. I personally was not really shaken up by much in the movie, but one thing did. The one thing that struck me in the movie was Wilberforce’s passion for the abolition of the slave trade, and how much he wanted it done. As William Wilberforce stated “I wish I could remember all their names. My 20,000 ghosts, they all had names, beautiful African names. We'd call them with just grunts, noises. We were apes, they were human.” The fact that William Wilberforce carried the slave trade as a burden proved to me that this was something very bad that needed to be stopped. His burning passion for the equality of all people was one moment in Amazing Grace that really struck me....

...are 2.18 billion Christians around the world” (Pewresearch, 2013). Imagine if those people started infecting everyone with negative attitudes and thoughts. Fortunately for all, this can never happen. God lives in those who have accepted his Son as their Savior. And through the believers, He continues to live. It’s crucial for not only those who have already accepted God into their lives, but also for those without faith that he remains a part of everyday life. Proof that God is alive is seen in the pages of the bible, the constancy of his love for all, and the ever reaching faith that is spread through those who believe. Many people tend to think that the only questions God can answer are those that are tied to faith. The truth is that God is in everything; therefore all questions can be answered by or tied to Him. The gift of testament through the verses included in the bible is just one of many examples of the answers God has given. Through the words written in the 66 books of the bible, the answers to many of the dilemmas of our day can be found and explained. One way is stated, “As we read the bible, one of our first startling discoveries is that though the people in the story lived long ago, we recognize ourselves in them. They faced the same problems we face. They had questions like ours. The responses God provided for them remain true today” (NewLiving, 2005). It is amazing that no matter where a person looks in the bible a story, a verse, a chapter can be...

I learned how to live on my own, when my babies were sick I had to learn how to care for them, work a job, get them to a sitter etc. This was a change that I experienced but however, it has made me stronger and the woman I am today. I also went through stages of change where i felt I could not care for my children because I was being evicted from my apartments, no transportation, and losing jobs every month due to my attendance. I went through a change of depending on men who I thought were the world to me and always left me. The final change took place when I got tired and got saved. I grew up in the church all of my life and as an adult; I wanted to live the party life. It is amazing how even in our "mess" God is still there with us even when we stray. We may leave him but he never leaves us. When I got saved, my life changed and has never been the same. I am now stable, my twins are 14 and they are respectful young men of God. I have been blessed with stable employment, nice transportation and I know to depend on God and not man!!! I still have bumps in the road and we all do but his grace and mercy is given to us...

...However, there are many who know most of them by heart. The song leader leads the congregation like a choir in singing everything from Amazing Grace to Zion Haste, accompanied by a pianist and an organist. There will always be a "special," just before the message, referring to a | | solo or small group musical presentation or perhaps even the choir. A Southern styled gospel quartet fits very well into this type of venue. Message: With his suit and tie uniform looking every bit the man of God he is, the pastor preaches a sermon from the Word of God to a spiritually hungry congregation. Regardless of the topic of the hour, the conclusion of every message will contain the plan of salvation. Doubtless, a hymn of invitation will be sung at the conclusion to invite sinners to come and kneel at an old fashioned altar to do business with God. As the hymn, "Just as I Am" is sung (or a similar hymn of invitation), those who respond to the calling of God's Spirit are met by personal workers up front who pray with them if needed. Souls are saved and lives are changed. | - THE CONTEMPORARY SERVICE Music: Two electric six-string guitars, a bass guitar, a digital electronic keyboard, and a set of drums flank the pulpit. The choruses are flashed up on to the angled walls to the sides of the stage. A congregation of younger people stand to their feet and enthusiastically sing out their worship to God accompanied by hand-clapping, applause, and raising their hands in...

...My Reading Response to Amazing Grace Jacqueline Stephens My Reading Response to Amazing Grace The poem I have chosen to respond to is Amazing Grace by John Newton. Giving birth to a child creates a strong bond between a mother and daughter, the emotional bond created between my granddaughter and myself is due to the fact, I had custody of her for the first two and half years of her life and I sang Amazing Grace to her every night before bedtime. She weighted a pound and six ounces when she was born, by the Grace of God she is a thriving six year old. This gives reason for her name, Nevaeh Lee, her first name backwards with her middle name, Heaven Lee. This poem touches my heart on a level no song has ever done. It was a way we spent our special time together. I can feel her little body lying on my chest with her hand clutching my shirt collar. This is the “Intensity of Emotion” (Section 13.4) I feel when I think of those times and wish by some miracle I could experience them again. I can hear her mom calling me on the phone when she had visitation at her at bedtime, asking me, “What does Nevaeh want”. I asked her what is she saying, she replied “mazing”, my heart broke. I told her she needed to be sung Amazing Grace to go to sleep. I feel the tears now. I started singing this to her when she was six months old. That is when she was able to come home from the hospital. I think I sang this to her until she was three and there are times...

...“Amazing Grace” all i need remix WHY NOT TRY A LOVE RAP? Inspired by…someone CHORUS:X2 Before I met you I was wasted space. I felt there was no way of saving face. Now through the church of love I’m gaining faith. You’re my song on Sunday..my amazing grace verse 1: It was raining outside, in walked the sunshine. A pretty young thing, had me fumbling dumb lines. Stuttering and mumbling, damn she was so fine. A diamond class lover this girl is a gold mine. Those were my thoughts as she passed and smiled. I wondered if this love would last a while.. Damn…those aren’t thoughts a single man should have. Most of us are like..“man when can I tap that ass?” But,really, when i sit back and examine the facts. She filled my heart’s void and prevented collapse. Kept my mind running like Flo Jo on tracks. She had a body like a big-mac baby was “stacked.” Beautiful, intelligent, and sexy as hell. Makes other women irrelevant..Alexi to Zell. (A to Z) I’m imprisoned by love.I’m in the “ecstacy cell” I’m deep in a trance in which I instantly fell. It seems as if the clouds just drifted away. ...It started with the fairy godmother, portrayed by the very talented and bubbly Sadie Vaughn, standing in a giant tree, singing the opening song and giving the opening monologue. The set behind her was hard to see from the dark, but I could see it was built like a village. It was for the next scene, where all the village people are shopping and mingling, the evil stepmother and sisters were shopping and arguing, and Cinderella and Christopher, AKA the prince, first meet. I felt as though this scene did a fantastic job of giving off that “normal day in the village” vibe. The characters were always busy doing something, so there was never a dull moment on stage. The next scene transitioned into Cinderella’s house, where the stepmother and stepsisters talked about their big plans for the ball and who they think the prince will choose as his bride. Meanwhile, Cinderella thinks she will be able to go, so she gets out her mother’s old dress and shows her stepmother. The stepmother, perfectly played by Savanna Day, then proceeds to tell her she is forbidden to go to the...

...Courageous Faith Hero The person that I chose to be my hero from Courageous Faith is Joseph. Joseph was a daddy's boy who was the first son of Jacob and Rachel. Unlike his half brothers who had witnessed Jacob's conniving and manipulative lifestyle, Joseph knew his dad whose life had been dramatically transformed by God. He grew up respecting his dad and also following his Godly example. His brothers were jealous of the treatment that Joseph received from his father, so they eventually plotted against him and sold him into slavery. He ended up in Egypt, sold to Potiphar, who was the captain to Pharaoh's guard, and made it high in his masters eyes with Gods favor. Joseph was eventually sent to prison after refusing to fall into Potiphar's wife's seduction, and wasn't called out until Pharaoh's butler reveled that Joseph could interpret dreams. He then, with told Pharaoh what God had determined the dreams to be, and was named Lord of Egypt, second to only Pharaoh himself. After many years go by he reunited with his brothers to reveal that he wasn't dead and that his dreams had come true, and that there father Jacobs prayers had in fact been answered by God. The reason that I had chosen Joseph, is because of the betrayal, and the abandonment, and test by God that he had went through in his life. I felt that I could relate to him more that any other of the hero's. As me being the middle child and being neglected in my younger days, and with my parents getting divorced when...

...Joshua Imbierowicz Old Testament History Joseph Paper The Patriarch Joseph Joseph, man known of the son of Israel, was the eleventh of the twelve sons of Jacob. Despite being the eleventh son of Jacob, he was Rachel’s firstborn child. With having twelve children, it is written that Jacob did in fact have a favorite and this favorite was Joseph. He was even given a “long coat of many colors” which has become a very popular story told, even in such plays as “Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat”. While this favoritism was probably something Joseph enjoyed, it was something his brothers envied and because of this favoritism the brothers grew up hating Joseph. This hatred grew to such a boiling point when Joseph was seventeen years of age and decided to reveal two separate dreams he had. One depicted the brothers in the field bundling grain and they all gathered around what Joseph had bundled and bowing down to what he had done. The second depicted Joseph’s family as the solar system, his father being the sun, his mother the moon, and his brothers as eleven stars and they were all bowing to Joseph who was his normal self. His brothers despised what he had told them as well as the fact that his father did not despise the dream as well. The hatred for Joseph by his brothers continued to get so bad that one day it is written they plotted to kill him but the eldest brother Reuben was eventually the voice of reason and persuaded his brothers against this. He instead suggested...

...Skills and Characteristics of Mental Health Human Services Workers Michelle Humble BSHS 471 December 11, 2011 Deborah Machold Skills and Characteristics of Mental Health Human Services Workers Working in the human service field can be a very trying job for many people. I believe that there are those that were born to be that way and those that have been taught to be caring and compassionate. While not every person is cut out to be on the front line of this field, those that are become very special people. Willing to give up their lives and time to help others and not make allot of money doing so. This group of people has a unique personality that is not taught or handed out to everyone. The people that work in the human service field are a special class of people and help to make our current world a better place. Training and knowledge is just the beginning of what is needed to be successful in the human service field. A human service worker must be able to put personal prejudices aside to be able to help his or her client in the appropriate manner. Putting aside personal prejudices does not mean putting aside common sense. Ethics are another key point to be successful, without this then one truly cannot freely see the entire big picture. Not being judgmental is another key point, you are seeing them or helping them for a reason, the last thing your client needs is to be pointed at continuously be told that what they did was wrong. Education is an important...
