America Turns the Corner, Document 1 from the United States News which eventually formed into the U.S. News & World Report publication touts the passage of the Taft-Hartley Act 1947, over the veto of President Truman. Describing America as having turned the corner from State socialism, where the government is the master and the citizen the servant, back to truly a representative system where the government is the servant and the whole people are once more “masters of their own destiny” Document 1. This early document not only describes the basic beliefs and goals of the conservative movement but also points to decisive legislation that makes possible the rise of conservatism in America. Document 5 from 1953, The Conservative Mind by Russell Kirk drew upon heros of the American past and …show more content…

Another document from the National Review titled Why The South Must Prevail, Document 7 by William Buckley defends the South’s States Rights position as being correct because of white superiority to blacks, at least until Blacks can attain cultural requisites to be trusted with their choices. The discussion is based on accurate numerical solutions of Maxwell's equations. Our results, using a realistic model for silver at optical wavelengths, show that good right-angle bending transmission can be achieved for wavelengths λ > 600 nm. An approximate stop-band at lower wavelengths also occurs, which can be partly understood in terms of a dispersion curve analysis. The bending efficiency is shown to correlate with a focusing effect at the inner bend corner. So where are citizens to turn when looking for something to eat? When the odds are seven to one, statistically you'd be more likely to choose the fast food restaurants almost every time. By increasing the amount of healthier store alternatives in the US we can give Americans accessibility to more affordable, healthier options, and the equal choices the people of America deserve. For many people across America eating healthy is a difficult thing to do, because they do not know where to start.
