...Three artist who stood out to me and why The first artist who stood out to me that I really enjoyed seeing and listening to was Louie Armstrong. I've already heard the song what a wonderful world but never saw or heard Louie perform himself. I was also very entertained with his acting career. I was unaware that African Americans/blacks were even allowed to interact with whites on the the big screen in Hollywood and be respected. What I’m most passionate about Louie Armstrong is that he opened my mind into jazz, which I had no idea could be so good. What a wonderful world, Hello Dolly and West End Blues. The second artist who i enjoyed listening to was Elvis Presley. I am was one of the few people who actually heard Elvis sing and perform and I’m ashamed to admit that, but I was more than happy to do research and found out what really made him the king. Every song was good but Jail house Rock was the best. What I also liked about Elvis was that he was one of the few artist that could actually act and had a decent movie career and really raised the bar for musician/actors today. Elvis was the best of all time to me and I was happy to that I did my research on him. Last and not least is Sammy Davis Jr he was phenomenal musician and actor. I liked his music a lot but enjoyed his acting a little more. I never really seen the Sammy Davis Jr Show but I did like his guest appearances on “All in the Family” and the “Dean Martin Show”. I liked how he always made people laugh...

..."Love Never Felt So Good" is a song performed by American recording artist Michael Jackson, released posthumously on May 2, 2014. Two reworked versions of the 1983 demo track originally composed by Jackson and Canadian singer-songwriter Paul Anka form the first single released from Jackson's second posthumous album, Xscape. The first version is a solo produced by American record producer John McClain and Dutch record producer Giorgio Tuinfort. The second version is a duet featuring American recording artist Justin Timberlake, produced by American record producers Timbaland and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon. It is the second collaboration between Jackson and Anka to be released since Jackson's 2009 death (the first being "This Is It"). The single charted on number 9 in the US and on number 8 in the UK. First worked on as a demo, Jackson co-produced the song during a 1983 recording session with Anka. The original version only featured Jackson's vocals, handclaps and a piano, played by Anka. In 1984, Anka sent the song to Johnny Mathis, who recorded a new version of the song with revised lyrics by Anka and Kathleen Wakefield.[3] Mathis' version made it on his 1984 album, A Special Part of Me. In 2006, Jackson's demo leaked online. During the 2013-2014 recording sessions for the Xscape album, the song was given a revision as a disco-sounding track. The first version, which only features Jackson, was produced by John McClain and Giorgio Tuinfort and was featured as the first track on the standard...

...The Film Room: Nunes vs Pennington Breakdown Amanda Nunes will headline her fourth PPV event in a row this Saturday against arguably her toughest competition to date in Raquel Pennington. Nunes shocked the world at UFC 200 when she decimated Meisha Tate to win the bantamweight championship and has since been making her case as the greatest female mixed martial artist of all time. Pennington, on the other hand, is on the best run of her career with 4 wins in a row over the likes of Jessica Andrade and Meisha Tate. This Saturday she has a chance to dethrone the queen of bantamweight and make her own case as one of the greats in Woman’s MMA. On the Cusp of Greatness Amanda Nunes was relatively unknown before her win over Meisha Tate and many thought she didn’t deserve a chance at the belt, let alone headline the biggest UFC event to date. Instead of shying away from the moment, Nunes silenced the critics with her first-round finish of one of the pioneers of woman’s MMA. After winning the title fans and pundits started to take Nunes seriously and rightfully so. Nunes has quietly become one of the best strikers in the division and has the grappling to hold her own on the ground or quickly get back to her feet. https://gfycat.com/BitesizedPaleCuttlefish Nunes is known as a pressuring fighter, but what makes her style so interesting is her patience while being the aggressor. Sounds weird, right? Notice above how Nunes pressures Tate to the cage but never overextends or throws any...

...Hair Length as an Acceptance Factor of a Homosexual Male in College Students Patrice A. Hammond Coastal Carolina University Abstract The study was designed to examine the effect that hair length has on the acceptance of a homosexual male. The hypothesis stated that the homosexual male with the short hair would be more accepted than the homosexual male with long hair. Males were hypothesized to be more accepting of the homosexual with short hair; and females were hypothesized to be more accepting overall. Undergraduates (n=52, 35 females and 17 males) participated in this study by completing a questionnaire designed by the researcher to determine how likeable, respectable, and sociable the candidate was. Participants also completed the Homosexuality Attitude Scale. Data analysis from this study yielded significant results. Using a 2 X2 ANOVA, results concluded that women were more accepting overall in both conditions, when compared with males. Results also concluded that male participants were more accepting of the short hair male versus the homosexual male with long hair. A correlation between the likeable questionnaire and the Homosexual Attitude Scale was also conducted. Results yielded a negative correlation between assessments. ...Young, single, childless women out-earn male counterparts. USA Today. Retrieved from http://www.usatoday.com/money/workplace/2010-09-01-single-women_N.htm#. In a recent USA Today article, author Paul Wiseman explores the facts about the shift in salary earnings for men and women. In this article, Paul Weismann, shares that single women with no children between 22 and 30 out-earn men on an average of 8% in the top 366 metropolitan area, according to the 2008 U.S. Census Bureau data analyzed by the New York research firm Reach Advisors. The greatest disparity is in Atlanta where the aforementioned demographics of women earn 21% more than their male counterparts. There are several factors that attribute to this shift in earning power. Those factors are education and, women choosing to delay marriage and motherhood. Education is the greatest factor in women earning greater salaries than men. Reach Advisors reports, "Nearly three-quarters of girls who graduate from high school head to college, vs. two-thirds of the boys. But they don't stop there. Women are now 1.5 times more likely than men to graduate from college or earn advanced degrees." Education has certainly become the key in salary advancement for women. The greatest implication on society however, is women delaying and/or skipping marriage and motherhood. As a result, the market for housing and children driven markets are not expanding in correlation with this demographic. Instead male-oriented businesses such as automakers...

...always come back to the fact that women feel like they are being mistreated which needs to be changed. Females should not feel inferior to males within the workplace even if they are feeling belittled by other male officers. One way females can “vent” about what is being said or done to them, is mentoring within the workplace; this will help them with stress, and getting more comfortable with the job by being able to talk to someone about it. There are many positive affects that females have in law enforcement, and knowing that there should be a population growth with females in policing. Police departments are more diverse today than ever before. Females in policing are known to have a positive impact within all law enforcement, policing being most common. Many things come into play when females are within law enforcement, some being good, and some bad. Females do come across problems within the workplace, but so do males; this factor not setting them apart from males on the job. Females make a huge impact on policing in many ways, in which are positive to law enforcement. Although there are not nearly as many female officers to male officers, females still have a major influence in policing. Females are always thought of as being inferior to males within law enforcement; but there are many qualities that females possess in which males do not, putting them on a different playing field where you cannot say who makes a better...

...African American Health Issues Eric Nordberg Grand Canyon University: HLT-305 9-28-2014 The African American population within the United States is a rising minority. There are 44.5 million African Americans in the United States, making up 14.2% of the population. It is projected that by the year 2060, that demographic will rise to 18.4 %( Black or African American Populations, 2014). Similar to any other demographic, the top three causes of death in the African American population are heart disease, cancer, and strokes. Apart from high mortality rate diseases, African Americans have the highest infection rate of HIV and have the highest death rates from homicides (Black or African American Populations, 2014). According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, “the health status of African Americans identifies a higher prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and sexually transmitted infections when compared with Whites” (Health Status of African Americans, n.d.). So comparing to the most common population, Caucasians, African Americans across the board have a higher prevalence for many of the major diseases. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national average for unemployment is 6.1%; the national average for African Americans is 12.6%. With a higher unemployment rate, African Americans experience a higher rate of not having health insurance (Black or African American Populations, 2014). Apart from unemployment...
