Willa Cather was born on December 7th 1893 in Back Creek Valley, Virginia. At the age of ten she moved with her family to join her grandparents in Webster County Nebraska. Cather graduated from Red Cloud High school in and later on moved to Lincoln to continue her education at the University of Nebraska.
Cather’s first interest was medicine but in English class she wrote a beautiful essay that got published by the Lincoln newspaper.
