My reasoning for choosing Gibb’s can be explained by [anon] (2006) ‘Gibb’s reflective cycle is fairly straight forward and encourages a clear description of the situation, analysis of feelings, evaluation of the experience, and analysis to make sense of the experience’. The assignment will also be organised into sections based on the reflective cycle. Pseudonyms will be used to maintain anonymity and confidentiality in accordance with clause five of the NMC (2004). The critical incident which I have chosen is an inappropriate assessment and application of mouth care in a pre-operative patient. ‘Oral assessment is required in planning effective care, and that the incidence of oral complications was reduced by the frequency of care’ Ginsberg (1961) cited by Mallett, J and Dougherty, L (2000 p361). I have chosen this as I found that mouth care is a valuable skill to perform on a NBM patient, and the appropriate assessment will reduce a patient’s discomfort. These provide an opportunity to assess the changes that have occurred in the ABC adoption status of companies over a recent 5-year period. The working income tax benefit was introduced at a low rate of $500 for individuals and $1,000 for families which considering the maximum net income cut-off amounts did not include the target audience of those who are on social assistance. Thanks to Canada's Economic Action Plan to help stimulate the economy during the Late 2000's Recession the Government provided what they called and enhancement and increased the benefit to $925 for individuals and $1,680 for families and increased the maximum net income levels to include more Canadians. The working income tax benefit is discussed in section 122.7 of the Canadian Tax Act and tax payers use Schedule 6 of the T1 tax return to calculate the benefit based on their earned income and calculates on a sliding phase in rate of 25% and phase out rate of 15%. Currently you must have earned income of at least $3,000 and maximum net income of less than $16,667 for individuals or $25,700 for families or with eligible dependents. Niger State ABSTRACT This study seeks to ascertain academic staff level of motivation, dissatisfaction and performance at work. The study employed a survey research method to collect research data from academic staff of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Nigeria. A total of 141 or 64% of the academic staff of the University were sampled out of a population of 219 academic staff. Descriptive statistical tools were used to measure the research variables. The study reveals that academic staffs are very highly motivated at work and also highly contented with the working environment. The study further revealed that staff performance as it relates to teaching is very high while their performance in the areas of research and other publications is moderate. It is therefore recommended that universities and other tertiary institutions should take the issue if academic staff motivation seriously to facilitate effective teaching and delivery of knowledge.
