My reaction to the documentary on Netflix “13TH” by Ava DuVernay, opened my eyes tremendously and has made me realize what African American people have gone through, and still are going through until this day. Many people fail to realize that black people are being downgraded and treated differently based on the color of their skin, and not by their character or attitude. The documentary influenced me to believe that African Americans once wasn't accepted by whites at a period in time, and still till this day are not accepted. The documentary “13TH” was very interesting, and showed me the history, and struggle that African American people have experienced in their lives.
