The Catbird Seat narrates a brief anecdote of David J. Birnbaum, which recounts how he abused the privileges that came with his recent quadriplegia. “The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990,” granted Birnbaum certain benefits that others did not possess. Throughout his essay, David exhibits how people with disabilities have advantages that others do not have; however, I do not believe it is erroneous because Birnbaum, and many other disabled people should have special privileges due to their disabilities. Even though handicapped people do not share some advantages with normal people, I do not consider it to be unjust. Disabled individuals do not have the same opportunities as us. We do not have a mental disability, or a physical limitation.
