Synopsis: Maleficent vs. Shailene Woodley

The movie Maleficent, by Robert Stromberg, is a spin off of Sleeping Beauty, with a fun twist where the main character, Maleficent, perfectly portrays Shailene’s distinct personality. Neither of these women understand the avaricious habits people carry with themselves nor why people are so untrusting of one another. In the movie Maleficent questions the necessity of a higher power and wonders why the other kingdom can not function in order without a hierarchy. The kingdom of which she lived in “...needed neither king nor queen but [they simply] trusted in one another.” Shai’s beliefs correspond with this by how she accepts society to understand that everyone is equal thus deserving the same respect,
