After reading the theory of Paul Rosenzweig, I found it to be interesting on what he thought of civil liberties and physical security in regards to the United States. I feel that civil liberties and physical security are both importance but however the importance of each one changes due to certain situations. I believe in order to have freedom in our country, we do need to feel safe and that we have are entitled to our civil liberties. It is written in the Declaration of Independence saying that all men shall be entitled to have life, liberties, and the pursuit of happiness. In order to maintain life even though it may put a limit on liberties one must retain these liberties even if it means some will be unhappy. When ever threats seize than the civil liberties can be restarted. However the lives lost over the mishaps of home land security can never be brought back. I feel whats the purpose of having all of these liberties and freedom when you do not know when, where, or to what extent an attack will take place. If we do not have security all our freedoms and rights that we currently have can be taken away from us from other countries especially terrorists. I do feel it may be acceptable to sacrifice some individual liberties in the interest of security. After 9/11 more people have become more acceptable of slow moving lines at security check ins because they know that its needed so they will be safe and feel secure. So, as previously stated I agree with Paul Rosenzweig theory. I feel the people are qualified to have rights of the land but however people can not really enjoy these rights if they are not secure. Once security is in place we can enjoy civil liberties because of the security that has been in
