Gender plays a big role when it comes to power. One example of this is in the poem Landays when it said “When sisters sit together, they always praise their brothers. When brothers sit together, they sell their sisters to others.” According to this poem I think men are more likely to abuse power. Men in Afghanistan have power over the woman. Which is not right but unfortunately that is how things are run in their country. In this poem the author compares her freedom in Afghanistan to other people's freedom in America. She is saying that woman take advantage of their freedom and use it for the wrong purpose.
