In his article, “Gay Marriages: Make Them Legal” Thomas B. Stoddard discusses the injustice that homosexuals life because they are denying their right to marriage. Karen Thompson and Sharon Kowalski were married to each other spiritually but not legally. In 1983 Sharon was in a car accident, and she was left in poor health. As a result, she could not walk and talk very well. Karen tried to get guardianship over her life partner, but she was refused since both of them were not legally married.
