Banning Candy and Soda from School In Tom Vilsack’s article,Should Candy and Soda be Banned from Schools?, Mr.Vilsack argues that banning soda and candy would help getting rid of the nation’s obesity epidemic in children. He states that it would be a major step in trying to reduce the high obesity rate in children. I say that banning soda and candy from school will greatly help by reducing the obesity rate. About one third of children in America are considered to be overweight or obese. In order for this to change, a shift in children’s diet has to occur.
