I’ve decided to analyze Your body is a battleground by Barbara Kruger, which is a photographic silkscreen on vinyl created in 1989, and a poster by the Guerrilla Girls called Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum?, which was produced in the same year. Both of these pieces use a combination of images and words to show and express each one of their individual meanings and purposes.
The year 1989 was filled numerous protest against new anti-abortion laws that arose from the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. Your body is a battleground was undoubtedly a part of these protest, in fact, it was made to serve as the rallying poster for the 1989 pro-choice march on Washington in support of reproductive freedom. In the image, the woman’s face is split down the middle into positive and negative exposures and parts of her face covered in words. The positive and negative exposures are meant to emphasize that the piece is still art even though it is a protest to the other side. …show more content…
On the poster is a reproduction of the nude woman in La Grande Odalisque by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, but her face hidden by a gorilla mask. The image is captioned by the question, “Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum?”. This is an analogy to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which after statistics that were compiled by the Girls themselves revealed that less than 5% of the artist in the modern art sections are women, but 85% of the nudes are women. Guerilla Girls was an anonymous group of women artist who staged protest institutionalized sexism and racism and the purpose of this piece was to expose sexual and racial discrimination in the art world and bring attention to the lack of recognition and appreciation of female artwork. The real question behind the question is how can women be praised as part of art, but not get the same recognition as the

Since people are individuals, they have their own type of learning. VARK is an ACRONYM that stands for (Visual, Aural, Read/Write and Kinesthetic). The purpose of this paper is to analyze, describe and list my preferred learning styles and strategies using the VARK analysis. As this assignment demands, I completed the VARK questionnaire and the results I obtained are listed below. This was my first time filling out the VARK questionnaire and it was an eye opening exercise for me. It reminded me of what I always suspected of my learning style but did not have any scientific evidence to back my suspicions until now. My scores are as follows Visual 2 Aural 6 Read/Write 15 Kinesthetic 10 The above results of my VARK analysis showed that I fall with in the multimodal study preference. Multimodal is a combination or choice of two or more strategies. About 60 % of the people have the multimodal study strategy. This means that these types of people have multiple strong points in areas of reading, writing, aural and kinesthetic strategies. The people that fall within the multimodal study strategy have the ability to meticulously gather information and multitask in their daily lives. ...[pic] JPPSS ELA COURSE GUIDE 2011-2012 ENGLISH I The JPPSS Instructional Sequence Guides are aligned with the LA Comprehensive Curriculum. JPPSS Implementation of Activities in the Classroom Incorporation of activities into lesson plans is critical to the successful implementation of the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum. The Comprehensive Curriculum indicates one way to align instruction with Louisiana standards, benchmarks, and grade-level expectations. The curriculum is aligned with state content standards, as defined by grade-level expectations (GLEs), and organized into coherent, time-bound units with sample activities and classroom assessments to guide teaching and learning. The units in the curriculum have been arranged so that the content to be assessed will be taught before the state testing dates. While teachers may substitute equivalent activities and assessments based on the instructional needs, learning styles, and interests of their students, the Comprehensive Curriculum should be a primary resource when planning instruction. Grade level expectations—not the textbook—should determine the content to be taught. Textbooks and other instructional materials should be used as resource in teaching the grade level expectations...

...student population. Our service concept involves educating our target market about recycling (focusing on the recycling of electronics), motivating our target market to recycle electronic devices, collecting the devices and handling them to recycling facilities. We carried out an initial exploratory research in the form of a focus group and based on it, on our insights and perceptions about the relation between the issue of recycling and our school, and also based on secondary research, we developed a descriptive research in the form of a questionnaire in French composed by closed-ended questions to be answered by 100 francophone Skema students chosen randomly across various classrooms. We obtained a 100% response rate. The analysis of the study results has indicated that despite the fact that practically everyone considers recycling important, almost a third of the respondents don’t take into consideration how green a school is before applying to it. Most people recycle plastic and paper, but only a very small number recycle electronics. More than half of the respondents said they keep their old electronics for a while, but end up throwing them for not knowing what else to do. Additionally,...
