Synopsis
This poem is portraying darkness as a living entity. It gives darkness life as if it was living. He shows that he can see the darkness and how it has mystified the smartest people for a millennia, he talks about the particles of darkness and how it is almost infinite like it’s never ending. The darkness stays in the northern polar regions because there really isn’t any light up there, Payack says “they have fewer natural enemies: Forest fires, lampposts, lasers, blazing sunlight, torches, candles, lighthouses, limelight, and electricity”(line 9-11);
