I think that one of the overarching themes in Night is family. Throughout the entire story, Eliezer connects with and continues to love his family, Even though he never sees his mother and sister again, he still sustained a mental relationship with them. He and his father share a special, impenetrable bond that keeps them together during the extent of their imprisonment and allows them to withstand the absolute atrociousness of the Nazis. Another main theme I have found through my analyzation of this novel is religion. At the beginning of the story, we are introduced to Eliezer as a devout Jew who is undeniably strong in his faith. As the plot goes on, Eliezer becomes more and more distant from God, eventually almost turning away from Him.
