Due to the serious disasters, a girl, Azucena, was trapped beneath gravel and mud. A reporter, Rolf Carle, was sent to record her rescue, but instead Carle attempted to rescue the girl himself. Rolf Carle became emotionally attached Azucena, and stayed by Azucena’s side until her death.
