...This research was conducted for us to know, how selected Fraternities affects the Lives of its members after (2) two years here in Angeles City, Pampanga. We all know that Fraternities has a bad impact to the government and it has a several issues reported on media and newspapers like hazing, alcohol abuse, sex assault and substandard performance in the classroom. But did we ever ask ourselves about what was the good side of a Fraternity has, by asking of their members like what was the advantages they have encountered after joining on it. We might also know if these selected Fraternities are really helping their members. During the survey, we realized that some of its members was totally attached to their own organizations (Fraternities). Fraternities began more than century ago as relationship building organizations in which leadership development could be cultivated. However, over the last several decades, fraternities have struggled to refocus on their adopted values and missions: scholarship, service, leadership and relationships. These are some values that we wanted to get from their organizations (fraternities), if they give respect, good relationship, and impact on the life of a member. The research seems to show that Fraternities has a big impact on the life of its members. Their members in general feel as if there is continual pressure on them to improve themselves. Fraternities have activities that provide for increased social networking through involvement...

...MY OWN HISTORY It was on the 18th day of February 1993 when Mrs. Monette Castro gave birth to a bouncing baby girl named Ma. Kristina Arietta Izabel F. Castro. My parents prefer calling me YET. After a few months of waiting, my mom and my dad, Mr. Armando Castro finally had their exchanges of vows. At present, I have 4 siblings, but sad to say, the youngest died. I had my first school at World Foundational Learning Center followed by Dominican School in Sta. Rita, Pampanga, where I graduated with honors. During my secondary years at Holy Family Academy, which I considered a new world for me, taught me so much, especially the value of having friends. TRUE FRIEND. Now, I’m a Pharmacist in the making here at Angeles University Foundation, It helped me to become more responsible and to keep on reaching and aiming for my goal. APPRECIATE EVERYTHING. That’s basically my first principle in life. Appreciate for having a family, friends or someone around you because it’s a necessity of a human person. I can say it’s a necessity for they are the ones who can help you discover and learn things which you still do not know. Remember that there is a saying, “No man is an island.” Yes, it’s true. For through them, you can help yourself in finding what is the essence of living in this world, what is your purpose and what else should we learn. We need them for us to be whole. LIVE AND LET LIVE. Everyone in this world have the right to live. Even the smallest creatures around us have the right...

...Title: Porous powers create Los Angeles’s character Los Angeles is a young city usually portrayed as a unique place that it captures the essence of a multi-ecological setting bringing the ocean, the skyscraper, and the happiest place on earth under one rooftop. Under this successful marketing pitch, the city has become one of the world’s biggest metropolises. However, the city is in the middle of the desert, and has insufficient natural resources to sustain life. As McWilliams said “Man has made it what it is” (pg.183). This diverse complex metropolis has had many rulers, but all of them have something in common, they have wealth, or they have control over scarce resources, a required need in which the individuals in the area acquire. These characteristics gives them the power, not a complete control, but rather the ability to set the terms under which other groups and classes must operate. In order to keep their power, they must be able to manage both wealth and resources. In this anthology I would present a view of the changes in the power groups in Los Angeles, how these changes created the character of the city, and who was left out of this equation throughout history. In every society there are experiences and material objects that are highly valued. If it is assumed that everyone in the society would like to have as great a share as possible of these experiences and objects, then the distribution of values in that society can be utilized as a power indicator. Those who...

...The city I chose for my hazard analysis is Los Angeles CA and the hazard that is the highest risk to the city is an earthquake. L.A. is the second largest city in the United States; it encompasses over 498 square miles and is surrounded by mountains and ocean. L.A. is a very urban environment, its high concentration of infrastructure makes it vulnerable to earthquakes, but at the same time it also gives it the resources it needs to respond to earthquakes or any other hazards. L.A. has had a few large scale earthquakes in the last decades and some geological experts predict it will suffer a major quake in the near future. How it has responded to those disasters in the past is what has laid the foundation as to how the city will deal with future earthquakes or other hazards and attempt to minimize their impact on the city. Los Angeles lies around 60 miles from the San Andreas Fault. This fault line is one the most active fault lines in the world and as such is capable of producing severe earthquakes. And even though Los Angeles doesn’t lie directly underneath it like the city of San Francisco, the fault line does pose a great danger to the city. But even more of a threat to the city is the many unknown smaller fault lines that run beneath it. With a population of over 4 million people, a large size earth quake would cause substantial damage and injure or kill a large number of people. L.A. has had around six major earthquakes that were 6.0 or stronger in the last hundred years...

...Ever since the Rams left Los Angeles in 1994, football fans have been wondering what would happen next. For the last 20 years, teams have been using the threat of moving to Los Angeles to extract more money and support from their current cities. While many teams have used the threat solely to gain benefits from their current cities, many were serious in their consideration of relocating to Los Angeles, the second-largest TV market in the country. The city of Los Angeles would not use taxpayer funds to help build a stadium, which along with issues about where a stadium could be located caused many to remain in their current city. Stan Kroenke, owner of the LA Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Arsenal Football Club, along with multiple...

...The Geography of Los Angeles’ Public School System When discussing Los Angeles, most people think of its enormous wealth: Hollywood, movie stars, bikinis, Lamborghinis, and multi-million dollar homes. However, Los Angeles is a city of extremes, and the wealth is even more pronounced when compared to the city’s poverty. In all aspects of life, there is a disparity between the very rich and the very poor. This disparity is most apparent in our public schools. While some public schools in Los Angeles are exceptional and score highly on AP and SAT exams, others are far below California’s target API (Academic Performance Index) score. The quality of public education in certain areas of Los Angeles is, in part, due to specific geographic factors that create such extremes in LA’s public school system. While Los Angeles is a very unusual city, there are two easily identifiable Central Business Districts: Downtown and the Port of LA. Before the Industrial Revolution and fast land travel, the wealthiest and most important people in the city lived as close to the center as possible because it was the heart of business and commerce. After the Industrial Revolution, city centers became much less desirable to live in because of pollution and noise, and the most powerful people began to move towards the suburbs, away from the CBD’s. However, in Los Angeles these people did not move away in all directions; they moved west, towards the ocean and natural beauty. Conversely, the city’s poor...
