It is already awful that we mistreat each other but it is appalling that we mistreat animals who do not have a voice to speak up for themselves. We have laws that are suppose to protect animals; however, “an animal is abused and tortured every ten seconds in America” (Animal Cruelty). An Animal Bill of Rights is a better way we can enforce these laws and offer better protection for animals; it gives animals a much needed voice.
Every year, more than a hundred million defenseless, innocent animals are being experimented on in merciless ways. Twenty- six million of those animals are just in the United States and 95% of those experiments are not protected by Federal Animal Welfare, one of the existing laws for animals. One of the most common and …show more content…
The animals are subjected to many different experiments that usually resulted in life of suffering or death. I agree that medical research is necessary in order to advance medicine but results from research done on certain animals are unreliable. Such as, when scientist created a drug to help stop morning sickness for pregnant women that resulted in over ten thousand birth defects and over thousands of fetal deaths around the world; yet, the drug was tested and proven to be safe on multiple animals. In addition, there are alternative methods that are more modern and do not include harming animals. A more ethical way of testing and researching are vitro testing, computer modeling, and human volunteers. The Animal Bill of Right gives the right of laboratory animals not to be used in cruel or unnecessary …show more content…
This is not only harmful to the animals but harmful to humans too. Studies have shown that the unnatural feeds used to promote growth in animals on factory farms increase the saturated fat content of meat; saturated fat has been linked to heart disease and obesity. Cows and cattle are forced into feedlots that are extremely crowded and forces the animals to stand in manure and urine while they are being feed or milked; this makes them breeders for disease. The right of farmed animals to an environment that satisfies their basic physical and psychological needs is provided by the Animal Bill of Rights. This would not only help the animals that live in factory farms, it would also benefit

...Instructor’s Name Course Date Some Enemies of Science & The Pain of Animals Argumentative Fronts Introduction Throughout the path of evolution, both the human species and animals have progressed; ironically, humans have as well taken form from ancient animals. The evolution of our mind and body have divorced us on the supposed hierarchy chain. Human beings who happened to be hunters akin to Paleolithic animals have presently grasped the dominant responsibility on earth. Inevitably, there are hindrances, for example, pollution and diseases that we cannot beat at the present moment; colds and diseases being the single killer of nearly a quarter of the entire life on earth. In fact, for years on end, animals have been by used by scientists to...

...Testing Products on Animals Today there are many ways to test products and find cures for diseases. Doctors can take tissue samples from people and grow them in test tubes to evaluate the specimen. They can also use computer modeling techniques to study diseases and products. With so many ways to test products and find cures, doctors do not need to rely on animals. Doctors should not use animals for testing because it is cruel and unreliable. Doctors should not use animals in experiments because it is unreliable. Animals are very different than humans, so what worked on an animal might not work on a person. 95% of drugs that worked in animal tests failed on humans. A recent study showed that only 19% of 93 dangerous drug side effects could have been predicted by animals. “Using mice and rats to test the safety of drugs is only accurate 43% of the time” (Dr. Nick Palmer Unreliable animal testing). That shows that using rodents to test products isn’t the best thing for doctors to rely on. In 2011, the Institute of Medicine concluded that there was no current need for chimpanzees in biomedical research. Chimpanzees share up to 98% of their genes with...

..."When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.” This quote was written by Anthony Douglas Williams. Millions of animals are poisoned and killed every year because of experiments they are forced to participate in. Although on the other side of the debate people argue that animal testing is the best option to find cures for diseases. However, it is important for people to know that products should absolutely not be tested on animals because they suffer from the experiments, species of animals are becoming endangered, and there are many alternatives that scientists could use instead. My first reason why it is absolutely critical that products are not tested on animals is because...

...million animals - including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, monkeys, and birds - are killed in scientific laboratories in the U.S. each year. Animals are used for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven experiments, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Because of animal testing, many cures and treatments to an array of diseases and illnesses have been discovered. But too many animals are sacrificed each year. There are many reasons why animal testing is not necessary to the development of the human population. First, animals are killed and injured. As humans, we think that we are so much better than other animals that live and breath on this earth and that we should have more...

...Animal testing for cosmetics products, medicines, and diseases should be banned in the country. The definition of animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, is the use of animals in experiments and development projects usually to determine toxicity, dosing and efficacy of test drugs before proceeding to human clinical trials. (biology-online.org) I am sure many of you have seen pictures all over social media of all the fancy cosmetics and soaps, but what you do not see is how they are tested. These products are tested on animals including, but not limited to, bunnies, rats, and monkeys. These abused animals are “forced to inhale/ingest toxic substances, subjected to maternal deprivation, deafened, blinded, burned, stapled, and infected with disease viruses”,...

...Animal Cosmetic Testing I have always been an animal lover and felt it was important for animals to have a voice. As they cannot speak, in my view because people allow the use of animals for cosmetic testing, Using animals to test cosmetic products by injecting large doses into eyes is painful and cause agony, anguish, suffering, and is a practice of animal cruelty(Thiroux&Krasemann,2014 p.352) Animals do have feelings and will cry when they are being hurt. You can see it in the way that they act. They suffer needlessly for vanity reasons and this should not be the case. In my view because people allow the use of animals for cosmetic testing, I believe that it is absolutely immoral that any kind of testing should be done as their must be another way to solve this inhumane treatment...

Happiness and sadness are two major emotions both animal and human both experience, weather we were born in a jungle or a hospital. The Department of Agriculture has approved the importation of 37 marmosets for experiments in laboratories. We don't know precisely what's in store for these creatures but you can be sure it's likely to be something that turns your stomach. Sydney University in recent years used marmosets in experiments in which their eyes were removed for testing and the animals were put down. About 92% of experimental...

...The term “animal testing” refers to any scientific procedures or experiment performed on living animals in research and development projects for purposes of determining the safety and effectiveness of many substances such as foods, cosmetics, or drugs, as well as understanding how the human body works. Animals used in experiments may be killed at the end or may be re-used in subsequent experiments. Cosmetics testing in animals is illegal in Scotland (UK and Europe). UK prohibits the use of Great Apes (gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, and bonobos) for research. In Scotland and UK, animal testing procedures are strictly controlled and mainly regulated under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 or “ASPA” which is based on European Directive 2010/63/EU. The revised legislation came into force on 1 January 2013. The UK (and Scotland) government has set out strict measures...

...Animal Testing Did you know the things you use every day like soap, toothpaste, and makeup caused many animals a life of pain and suffering? A lot of people don’t realize how many companies test on animals and are making no effort to stop, such as Dove, Head & Shoulders, Johnson & Johnson, and Clorox. Some people may think that is necessary but animal testing is mostly ineffective. Companies should not test on animals because it is unethical, there are other research methods, and it is a waste of money. Testing on animals is cruel. There are over 100 million animals being used in chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic tests. Animals are even used in biology lessons, medical training exercises, and curiosity driven medical experiments. Mice and...

...Jade Quinonez Mrs. Ronce Core C 14 February 2017 Is Animal Experimentation Acceptable and Beneficial? Animal experimentation is used all over the world to test the safety of products and to develop new products. According to the Humane Society, authorizing a single pesticide can require over 50 experiments and as many as 12,000 animals. Although animal testing may lead us to more medical advancement, it is an expensive way of researching vague outputs and at the same time a practice of animal cruelty and abuse. Animal testing is completely unbeneficial and unacceptable. It is inhumane and unethical, not accurate, and is very wasteful. Animals experience pain and suffering during research experimentations. The animals are tormented, hurt, contaminated...

...you ever wondered the benefits of animal tests? Well, there aren’t many. they delay the releases of cures for many diseases, they yield defective results, and they kill/injure 1,000s of humans and animals each year. This is why I argue that they should be banned from the world. I see how an innocent bystander like yourselves would be fooled by the shroud of lies surrounding animal tests and I hope this can make you see the truth. My first reason is that these tests actually delay cures from being released, not hurry them up like they're supposed to. For instance, blood transfusions were delayed a whole 200 years by animal studies! In addition, The polio vaccine was delayed by another 40 years because of … ( big surprise) monkey tests! ...moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Famous quote said by Gandhi. Animal testing refers to the experimentation on certain animals such as rabbits, cats, dogs, mice, rats, etc. Animal testing is used to see how safe and effective the products of the company is making. Debates on animal testing have been happening since the beginning of the seventeenth century. Animals have been tested on since 384-322 BC and between 304-258 BC by Greek physician scientist Aristotle and Erasistratus. I believe that animal testing should be banned because it harms animals. There are more effective ways to test products, and it is bad science. According to "The Food and Drug Administration" they report that 92 out of every 100 drugs that pass animal test fail in humans. To begin with, animal testing/abuse should be banned in the United States because it harms animals. According to "Cruelty-Free Cosmetics 101" written by...
