Erving Goffman is a Canadian American sociologist born in 1922 and died in 1982. Goffman studied sociology of everyday life, social interaction, and social construction of self, social organization of experiences, and particular elements of social life. He was listed as the sixth most cited author on humanities and social sciences. In addition, Goffman was the 73rd president of the American Sociological Association. Some individual considered Goffman as the most influential American sociologist of the twentieth century due to Goffman’s efforts with symbolic interaction.
