I. Introduction: Define personal responsibility:

Thesis Statement:” Personal Responsibility is the core to a successful life”. Personal responsibility is the core to a successful life in every way. A responsible student leads the way to a responsible professional and the overall success of a great individual.

a.) As a scholar education is the essence for a solid future, the student has acquired a mastery of that knowledge through extended education, by setting goals personal and academic, being organized and most of all the understanding that the student is accountable for his actions.

b).The achievement of personal responsibility as a student leads the way to his professional development which is maintained and achieved by his ability to abide by the intellectual capacities and duties to himself, his employee and his clients. Not only does the individual need to be a great scholar or professional but the existence of a balanced spiritual and emotional life is eminent for the growth of a happy human being. c).Personal responsibility is not as simple as it sounds, it does take a great deal of hard work and effort by an individual but it can only be achieved by the individual alone and no one else. Every individual has choices, how you pick your choices depends on you and no one else can be accountable for. An individual is responsible for his own happiness. This is why it is called personal responsibility.

II. Explain the relationship between personal responsibility and college success: Setting goals, meeting standards and getting the job done.

a).Setting goals: There are many challenges when going to college especially for the student just starting college and experiencing that the reality of “going away from home” is not that easy and simple. The student needs to adapt to the responsibilities of studying, some working to pay for college, communicating, interacting with peers, going to class and being there on time (punctuality), turning in homework and complying with all the daily tasks and duties required to fulfill their mission. These are the core values that will prepare a student for the professional life ahead. The relationship between personal responsibility and college success is essential.

b) Meeting Standards: College success is the essence of a solid future. It is the foundation which prepares the college student for the professional world. When applied to education personal responsibility means college performance. The student will be measured on the capacity of how well education standards are met. How important it is to keep up to date with the homework and tasks assigned, a student will be measured by his hard work and efficiency. c). Getting the job done: Student performance by achieving good grades will demonstrate that the student is really giving his best effort and results will prove he is getting the job done. Getting the job done efficiently and in a timely manner is a requirement that professionals take very seriously.

III. Include a preliminary plan to practice personal responsibility in your education.

Personal Preliminary Plan: A preliminary plan is intended to establish an overall development scheme. Set objectives and goals, the completion of achievement in my goals and objectives. Relate them to my scholastic life.

a). What are my objectives and goals: My objectives and goals are to apply myself as much as I can into educating myself. Start with doing my homework, keeping up with posts in class, complete assignments on time, working and communicating with my teammates. Read the lessons in the collection book.
Set priorities, set performance goals and realistic expectations as well. Motivate myself. Learn more on the different styles of writing and finally master the art of learning and writing.

b). How do I accomplish these objectives. Setting time management skills, organize time more effectively by writing a schedule, read and practice drills in the chapter lessons. . Create a “to do” list of things that I should perform on a daily basis to work towards achieving my goals more effectively.

c). Objectives and goals set by a student are the foundation to achieve the results expected. The harder a student works towards achieving his goals and objectives the better the outcome. As the saying goes “hard work does pay”.
It is a continuous process, starting with the recognizing of social standards, which leads into the formulation of a plan as an effort to comply with these standards, and ends with the acceptance that failures are a direct result of my own shortcomings. These components are every bit as important as the whole, all intrinsically tied in with long term college success.
