Apples board of directors has individuals with so much experience through out the world. There are 8 members of the board and I would like to share a brief summary of each person. Arthur D. Levinson ph. D. is the non-executive chairman of the board, which makes him an outside director. “Levinson has been a co-lead director of Apple’s board since 2005, has served on all three board committees— audit and finance, nominating and corporate governance, and compensation—and will continue to serve on the audit committee. (Apple co, 2016)Dr. Levinson has accomplished so much as he was a part of different board of director. Apple also announced that Robert A. Iger, President (outside director) and Chief

Its success doesn’t come entirely from producing consistently innovative and quality products. It reaches down into the depths of the company itself, its organizational governa nce and control. This foundation is what keeps Apple on the leading edge of the market. Apple has a Board of Directors which contains seven members, including CEO Tim Cook. The role of the Board is to “oversee the Chief Executive Officer and other senior management in the competent and ethical operation of the Corporation on a day-to-day basis and assures that the long term interests of the shareholders are being served ” (Apple 2010, p.1). Serving on the Board set s limitations on its directors; they are advised not to serve on more than four boards of other companies (Apple 2010, p.1). Directors serve for a one year term, without limitations on the number of terms served ; however they may not continue re-election after age 75. Again highlighting the Corporations excellent internal governance, it states “The Board believes the Corporation benefits from the contributions of directors who have developed, over time, increasing insight into the Corporation” (Apple 2010, p.2). As an executive, Jobs had a temperament that was not always welcomed in the professional atmosphere. Shortly after he began Apple he was asked to leave by the Board of Directors and friend, John Sculley, CEO of Apple Computer. This was a blow that Jobs did not take lightly, and in order to maintain his dream and vision, he started a new software company, called NeXT. Eventually Apple Computer purchased the failing company, only after Jobs returned to Apple Computer in 1997, as the CEO. He replaced Gil Amelio, who replaced John Sculley only three years before (Nair, 2012). In 2007, Apple Computer became Apple, Inc., so the world would know that Apple was not just selling computers (Finkle, 2010). Jobs’ leadership traits, charismatic leadership style and charismatic leadership traits are analyzed. The communication style of Jobs as a charismatic leader is also discussed. ...October 30, 2015 Subject: Apple Inc. Ending Business Relationship with Foxconn Dear Shareholders: As one of the Board of Directors at Apple Inc., it is my duty to address concerns over the ending business relationship with Foxconn. In light of unacceptable working conditions at a Foxconn facility, a decision has been made to assure that our company will cease to violate any breach of human rights in the future. The matters at issue are stated below: * Unacceptable working conditions * End of outsourcing production In 2010, it was reported that Foxconn employees were subjected to unacceptable working conditions such as low wages, long hours, poor ventilation, psychological abuse, and punishment for mistakes. Derailing employees to the magnitude of committing suicide, we formerly pressed Foxconn to make changes to these unacceptable working conditions by conducting audits at their manufacturing facilities. To our dismay, an FLA (Fair Labor Association) report stated that Foxconn failed to improve their working conditions. As a result, our business relationship with Foxconn has been promptly discontinued. This discontinued partnership will affect Apple Inc. in many ways, such as in profits and future product manufacturing costs. Reason being, we have decided to stop outsourcing production to not only Foxconn, but to all of our foreign partners. We strongly believe this recently developed policy decided upon by the Board of Directors will further our economic...
