During the nineteenth century, the number of European industrial workers dramatically increased, which transformed the conditions under which they lived and worked. Once the factories were moved to the cities, they became over-populated with all the people moving there for jobs. While the Industrial Revolution brought advances in machinery, technology, and economics, the conditions workers faced led to arguments on how to improve their living conditions, get higher wages, and poor working conditions.

In document 1, 2, and 10, the authors believe that the poor should be more patient and that they should not rely too much on the rich. "And it is evident that every man in the lower classes of society, who become acquainted …show more content…
The London Workingmen's Association believed any person proving that they are 21 years old or older should be able to vote as stated in document 4 "Every person producing proof of his being 21 years of age shall be entitled to have his name registered as a voter... [and] that there should be no property qualification for members of [Parliament].". They also believe that the government has and holds the power to help the poor. Pauline Ronald believed in equal work opportunities for women. Document 8 tells us "Woman is entitled to work as is Man" which is what Pauline believed. Alexandre Millerand aims to assure to every human liberty and property. He tries to solve the problems before a revolution starts as stated in document 12 "and no one, I suppose, would attribute to us the foolish intention of resorting to revolutionary mean." Flora Tristan believes unity is the only way the workers will be heard and demand concessions. Flora also believes that unity of men and women will lead to equal rights for all genders. Document 5 states " ...and fraternally down the only appropriate path- unity....... to establish the rule of justice and absolute equality between man and woman on this earth". Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels think that the only way to overthrow the ruling class is to do a wholesale revolution as stated in document 6 "an alteration which can only take place in practical movement, a revolution".Central Electoral Committee of the Eleventh Arrondissement want to look forward to a future where every citizen will exercise their rights and where there will be no class distinction. Document 11 states "We look forward to a future where every citizen will exercise his rights to the full and be conscious of his duties, where there will be no more oppressors or oppressed, no class distinction among citizens and no barriers between the peoples of different nations." ...The disagreements between Jefferson and Hamilton led them to the creation of the political parties within the United States, the Jeffersonian Republicans and the Federalists. Jefferson favored strict interpretation of the Constitution while the Federalists supported looser interpretation. Jefferson and Madison wrote the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions to attack the Federalist Party and argued for states’ right, arguing that they could nullify national laws. Although Jefferson and Madison both supported strict interpretation of the US Constitution, they started leaning towards looser interpretation, the main idea supported by the Federalists.
