...create a creative collage. My initial intention of going without a plan was to not limit myself within the boundaries of an outline so that I can freely decide on materials that I think would fit in my collage. This resulted in me just blindly looking for images that would represent MediaCorp but do not portray the lack of creativity in the industry. Reflecting on it, I could have used the systematic approach in a way that would not limit my material gathering. Creativity is an abstract topic and to represent it in a collage would be difficult. By brain storming and coming up with a plan on how to represent the topic, I could have saved time on the search for new cut outs half way through the collage making. Having a plan beforehand will not limit the materials that I can gather as long as I do not rigidly follow the plan down to every single detail but instead use it as a guideline. The efficiency enhancing methodologies do not limit creativity, most of the time it is the wrong usage of such methods that is the culprit. This point is supported by an interview with Dr. Larry Wending, vice president of the 3M’s research department, made in a Business Week article by Brian Hindo (2007). "In some cases in the lab it made sense, but in other cases, people were going around dreaming up green-belt programs to fill their quota of green-belt programs for that time period", "We were letting, I think, the process get in the way of doing the actual invention." Being too obsessed with...

...packing and the crew you roll around with. If you’re just a random on the streets you’re most likely going to get jumped or shot. This is what one young man named Cedric Jennings has to face in his senior year of high school, in one of Washington D.C. most corrupt neighborhoods. He comes into many difficult challenges and problems though out his years in Washington but his hardest will be his peregrination though his senior year and making his way to collage. This young man is just trying to stay out of trouble and get into one of the most respected universities in the U.S. But along the way he faces many difficult situations and maybe this problems will be able to be answered by a book called Utopia. Hopefully young Cedric Jennings will be able to solve most of his problems how the people in the wonderful town of Utopia solved their problems. One of his most unremitting problems was how kids in his school would never give a crap about their grades. I mean the surprising “2.0 grade point average for athletic participation is too high a bar for many kids here to cross”(Suskind 2). Too me this would be a huge problem because having to be around kids that don’t care about their grades would make it hard to do well in school. Even when you’re a kid from the hood that has a pedantry brain. I mean this kid is smart, but he just has to deal with problems that he shouldn’t have too. I mean Cedric would have to be very chary about his knowledge. He would have to because other...

Over the years I’ve noticed my company really respecting me and considering my thoughts on situations their going through, bad or good. Learning the foundations of interviewing was very eye opening to me. The textbook really clarified that there was a difference between interviewing and counseling. The textbook defines interviewing as the basic process used for gathering data, providing...

...I didn’t realize it until then but I am a straight forward thinker. I tend to just follow the first logical path; which makes me terrible at abstract art, which we did a lot of. Our first assignments were collages about the movie Jiro Dreams of Sushi, it’s a documentary about a guy who makes sushi. I really couldn’t understand how this movie about a man and his fish helped us develop skills to design buildings inside and out. Especially the collage aspect what did tacking some pieces of paper onto other paper have to do with anything other than grade school art class? We watched several other movies during the semester some of which I found interesting although not especially relevant. I struggled to relate our other projects to what I thought interior design was as well, how did making watercolor post cards help me in any way, a majority of modern architecture is done on computers. Most of what we did was abstract work from bending strange paper shapes to making greyscale marker work. I got a bit of a reputation in my studio for critiquing technique work om those...

...Administrative Supervisor. The organization I was working with had consolidated offices and in result, my workload had increased. I ended up supporting seven regional managers and forty case managers all over California on top of seven direct reports. My direct supervisor was based in Maryland so I barely had a physical contact with her. In my collage, I illustrated the feelings I had when I was burnt out. There are a couple of comic strips that showed a smoke detector and the sprinkler system going off due to employee burnout. There are a couple of quotes that described my feelings best when I was stressed. One talks about being so stressed out the “I can’t even remember why I am so stressed out and it is stressing me out” and the other one talks about paper clips being replaced by a heap of twisted metal, which I mostly did during these stressful times. Other photos in my collage shows people screaming, crying, pulling their hair out, etc. which best describe the feelings of a burnout. The book, Discovering Psychology described three components of burnout. These components are people feel exhausted, people feelings of cynicism and people feel a sense of failure. (Hockenbury). These components best described my feelings and how it affected my job performance. I remember feeling the lack of energy and I...

...in prime time, including three on non-holiday weekdays Players have an absolute right to be envious and feel exploited. The age-old rationale that the student-athlete's "free education" is equivalent in value to his athletic labor doesn't wash anymore. It's not equivalent. The national average graduation rate is 55 percent for Division I-A football players, according to the federal government's calculation. However, many of the biggest programs struggle to meet the average. Here are a few examples: Texas, 29 percent; LSU, 37 percent; Florida, 42 percent; Alabama, 47 percent; Ohio State, 49 percent; and USC, 52 percent. Clearly, a significant number of football players aren't receiving the benefit of the bargain of this "free education." The mandatory and "voluntary" workouts are often at odds with obtaining that "free education.” (1 & 1.1) Athletes have been pouring their hearts out day after day, Week after week putting their health at risk playing these sports. Television contracts and shoe deals the athletes endorse for the college is really big for the collage, An athlete plays the game simply because he loves it. There are certain colleges where athletics are a key source of their income, and that’s something that attracts other athletes to their college. For some universities hey rely on...

Actually, this decision helped me to have a better communication with my family and they support me very well. Also this decision helped me to communicate better with some of my friends. My oldest daughter is going to college. I remember when I was trying to ask her something about her college or classes she tried to ignore me. That time I got very mad at her because she didn’t want to answer me. I didn’t know she didn’t want to answer me because she was thinking it’s wasting time to talk about school with me. When I started the school then she explained to me that I wouldn’t understand it, if she explained anything about school. She explained that she is very happy now because she can talk about school with me. She said that I wouldn’t have any idea of what she’s talking about if she tried to talk about her classes or lessons. But now we talk about school almost every day. Now I understand that education is very important for me. We can solve our problems together and prove our education. She also help me a lot to learn English and vocabulary. I am so glad that my daughter’s education is high because they can help me. I really proud of them. My youngest daughter is going to high school and she is going to be graduating this year. LeRoy was married twice and divorced twice before the age of fifty. He fathered six children whom he never saw at all. LeRoy bounced around job to job but spent the majority of his earnings on alcohol. LeRoy gained a lot of weight and was up to 285 pounds by the time he reached forty eight. Within three years LeRoy was hospitalized and informed that he has emphysema. His attitude changed for the worse while being cared for. He did not have any visitors and wishes he would die. ...Midtown Living thirty feet away from the train tracks could take a few days of getting used too. The bright side is the convenience it brings being close to workplace, shopping centers and many fantastic places for dinning. Midtown glows a light with activity people walking up and down the dreary street. With walking distance plazas and gas stations, favors those without a car to still be able to go shopping The University of Memphis campus is around the corner; it is exciting living close to campus being surrounded by collage students within the same age group. About a mile and a half down the road at the corner of Poplar and Highland St, is the Poplar Plaza shopping Center. Merchants in the plaza include: Old Navy, Party City, Dollar Tree, Kroger, and Petco. Still, the big draw to the plaza is the variety of restaurants: from the BBQ ribs of Applebee’s Bar and Grill, to the mouth watering fajita mix of El Porton, to the finest sweet tea and sandwiches at McAlister’s Gourmet Deli. Another remarkable place to enjoy incredible wings is Buffalo Wild Wings; a pleasant place to meet with the buddies watch football, and eat fantastic wings. It always feels identical to a city lifestyle, always something going on creating opportunities to make new friends, also the advantage of finding the perfect roommate since there are always students looking to room with someone. Whenever home gets too hectic and noisy, Starbucks is normally the place to go not far down the road for remarkable...

...Hurry-up offense Winchester I Some people believe that the hurry up offense should not be used in college football. Well should it be used and does it benefit the offense? Many coaches believe it helps the offense but some coaches disagree. Coaches use different formations and different strategies to win and succeed. In college football the hurry up offense should not be banned. The hurry up offense is affective and slows the defense down. "The lack of huddle allows the offense to threaten to snap the ball quickly, denying the defending team time to substitute players and communicate effectively between coaches and...

...Guillebon, June 13, 1935 – November 18, 2009) were a married couple who created massive and environmental works of art. • They married over objections from Jeanne Claude’s family(they became their supporters later), forming one of the most durable and creative partnerships in the history of art. • Christo studied art at the Sofia Academy from 1953 to 1956, and went to Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic) until 1957, when he left for the West by bribing a railway official and stowing away with several other individuals on-board a train transporting medicine and medical supplies to Austria. • She was described as "extroverted" and with natural organizational abilities. Her hair was dyed red and she smoked cigarettes, and tried to quit many times until her weight would balloon. The first question that I asked Stacy was, what was an advantage and disadvantage of being the oldest child? She said that one of the advantages of being the oldest child is was it helped her to become a more independent leader and also taught her to take care of younger children. One disadvantage that Stacy had was she was the experimental child so she had to go through things first and I had to go through it second and got through things easier. I asked Stacy, What was a time in your life that made you come of age? Stacy told me how when she moved in an apartment it made her realize that she was younger then what she thought she was. Also moving away from her parents made her realize...
