Cigarette smoking is injurious to health is the notification given in all cigarette packets. But this is not stopped by people who are smoking cigarette as it is not good for health. I personally hate people who are smoking in public places. These people who are smoking in the public places not only cause health problems to them but also to other peoples in these places. Therefore smoking individually inside their homes must not be banned as it is considered as one of the rights of people. But some people will say that smoking must be banned overall and must stop using cigarettes. This is not all possible and it should not be done. Therefore people who are smoking in their homes will be affected by this decision. This must not be done as it will ban the rights of people. This will also lead to the revenue loss of the government. But this cigarette smoking not only affects the individual health but also affects the public when it is done in public places. This must be brought down to act which can help people who are not smoking. The people who are smoking in the public places must be punished literally.
This kind of smoking in public places will cause lung disease to both the persons who are smoking and other people who are not smoking in the public. Therefore this kind of smoking in the public must be banned. Smoking in public places will affect the health of each and every person in that area as they are exposed to smoke. The smoke which arises from cigarettes will affect the lungs in humans. Therefore smoking cigarettes in the public places must be banned by the government as it affects the health of poor peoples.
The cigarette smoking causes death to more number of people in a country as proposed by a survey. Smoking is considered as an addiction. In a cigarette tobacco contains nicotine, which is a drug that is addictive. Therefore, this nicotine makes it very

...In today’s worlds health is a big issue. One of the issues that is being faced in today’s America Michael Fumento makes this case in his article “The Feds’ Fib about Low-Fat,’ which was published in the New York Post on July 23, 2002. He is a syndicated column and he appeared in newspapers all over the country. This article is important to those who read and who are concerned about their health. Obesity can lead to other health issues, however, Fumento states that the government and food companies are accidentally misleading people about what works to stop the problem. In the article Fumento argues that the government is saying that having a low fat diet will reduce weight but this is false because people are eating less fat but gaining more weight instead of losing. Fumento’s extrinsic ethos is not very strong. Fumento is not famous enough that his reputation will affect readers. However, in different newspapers in which Fumento’s article appears, there will usually be a byline providing extrinsic ethos. For example, the byline in The Washington Times indicates that Fumento “is a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute.” Many readers will not know much about the Hudson Institute, but it sounds impressive. It makes the readers want to know more about this article. Overall, Fumento’s extrinsic ethos is not an important factor. Intrinsic ethos is another important rhetorical appeal in Fumento’s argument as he witness obesity in different country. He travels in many different countries...

...Critical Argument Analysis July 8, 2013 ENG/215 Think about what would happen if there was no Eminem? Then there would be one less rapper that is in the music industry today. But more than likely what you are thinking right?   Well it would not just be one less rapper.   It would also be one less of a role model for anyone who cares about him.   Eminem is an influence to the young life and even the adults.   His songs are stories are on his life and things that he would have wanted to change or make different.   Most of them are based on each and every subject that happened to him through his life. At first some of the children and growing ups in this time and some adults face some of the same problems he faced.   Therefore, Eminem is an influence who expresses himself in his own different style or it is his character. His music is an influence because of its rhythmical story behind it.   Let`s look at the song “Mockingbird” for example; it is a song of how Eminem’s daughter Hailie was growing up with her mom and her father was always on the news (Eminem) was always on the move.   If u think about it, not everyone gets to see their father and mother every day of the week.   Some of the children’s parents may work different shifts at their job and that would...

...Should America Legalize and Decriminalize Marijuana? Marijuana is one of the most versatile plants on this planet and we are not utilizing it to its full potential. The plant has many uses and the most controversial one is recreational use. Cannabis has gotten a bad reputation through many slander campaigns and dubbed the gateway drug. GUTWILLIG: “The overwhelming evidence shows that the enormous majority of people who try marijuana or who even smoke marijuana regularly never consume any other illicit substance. It’s actually what’s referred to as a terminus drug. It is the only illicit substance that most people ever try” (PBS, Religion and Ethics, October-22-2010, legalizing-marijuana). For over 75 years people have fought to keep it illegal and to make it legal. The war on cannabis has cost Americans tons in tax money, and forged a shady black market. Lucky Severson: “national studies indicate that enforcing marijuana laws costs American taxpayers over $8 billion annually. The cost of pot arrests in California is over a billion a year.” In a time where we are stressed over the economy wouldn’t it make sense to save us this kind of change? Ethics How can we as a society endorse alcohol, a substance that has proven to take lives if they drink too much, and then shun marijuana, which in extreme cases of smoking to much can cause severe munchies not death. Now we have to ask ourselves is it illegal because of its recreational use or the potential uses that can replace other...

Understanding Arguement

...1) Before I started to read Chapter 1, I thought that the word argument had to do with a discussion two or more people; whether calm or severe to argue the difference in their opinions. After reading the chapter, I found that there are various types and forms of arguments. 2) Arguments are everywhere! If doesn’t matter whether there is a child/teenager arguing with their parents over being disciplined, to friendly conversation on two or more sports fans and their favorite team, and/or a returning military member/veteran coming from war and finding that there is no government support or jobs for them as they come home from war. 3) A Traditional argument is a person or persons that are making an argument with the means of persuading to convince an audience to change positions and agree with the arguer. An example of a (n) traditional argument is public debates (i.e.: presidential debates) or court hearing. A Consensual argument emphasizes an agreement. An example of a consensual argument are two team members that dialogue all their ideas to try and discover what will be their best position to on any issue or idea. 4) Conditions which are necessary for an argument to work best are: * An issue: An argument needs as its central focus an issue that has not yet been settled, or has become unsettled. * An arguer: Ideally every argument requires a person who is motivated to initiate the argument, to take a position on the issue, to obtain and consider information, and to...

...The Pursuit of an Anderson Sport Coat Joseph Edelen Phoenix University My quest for the holy grail of graduate study, a Doctorate of Philosophy, began in the early eighties. I had just enrolled in the Computer Science program at the New York Institute of Technology and during the summer session, my round trip commute (home, work, school, and home again) was completed on my two-wheeled racing machine; a Schwinn Varsity bicycle. One evening after school, I was watching television and one commercial caught my attention and it has impacted me to this very day. It began with a cyclist commuting to work while the announcer was selling the idea that an athletic person works hard to stay fit, and can wear stylish clothes exercising as well as at work. At that moment, the cyclist reached his destination which was a university campus. That rider could have been me as my health and education are two important facets of my life. About sixteen years ago while working for Sharp Corporation, I was on a fast track to Management, however there was one major roadblock in my way; no degree. I was informed by the senior staff that a degree is required to enter the ranks of management. I was not going to idly stand by and let the “brass ring” slip through my fingers. So I returned to school and began the most aggressive curriculum possible. I took on a full course load while traveling to and from Fukuyama Japan to work at our wafer fabrication facility. While in Japan, I completed homework...

Examine the Arguements Against the Teleological Arguement

...Examine the arguments against the teleological argument for the existence of God? (30) The design argument is also known as The teleological argument; it is an argument for the existence of God or for a higher more intelligent creator. The earliest version of the argument is associated with Socrates in ancient Greece. One argument which disagrees with the teleological is an argument from the famous philosopher David Hume, who said that even though the universe shows features which imply there is design meaning there is a God, the world is also imperfect and full of suffering. This could suggest to us that there isn’t an all loving and omnibenevolent God, Hume also argued that there is no evidence that the universe needs a designer meaning that it could have just come about naturally, this would link back the teleological argument because in the teleological argument it states that the universe has order meaning that there must be a creator who provided this order, so Hume could suggest that order came about naturally without a God. Hume also stated that no one has any evidence to prove that the Universe is not just the result of pure chance or luck, this would go against the teleological argument because he is saying there was no God to design the world and it was a natural occurrence which wasn’t planned or designed. Hume argued for the early forms of the theory of natural selection, he said that animals can adapt to respond to their surrounding and that the large amounts...

Arguement of Fact

...Scott Czaja English 112 Dr. Margaret Dunn October 24, 2012 Is Capital Punishment Justifiable Is capital punishment really worth it. Is the planning of taking human life really that cost effective that we as humans can break our own morals and laws. Passions in the US are sharply divided and are equally strong on both sides of the argument. Since colonial times, roughly about 13,000 people have been executed under capital punishment, but what makes it right? Many people argue that capital punishment is well deserved to some of the criminals we see in the old today. "There are some defendants who have earned the ultimate punishment our society has to offer by committing murder with aggravating circumstances present. I believe life is sacred. It cheapens the life of an innocent murder victim to say that society has no right to keep the murderer from ever killing again. In my view, society has not only the right, but the duty to act in self defense to protect the innocent" says a New York Attorney. Many people agree with him as well. They feel that if someone feels like its ok to take anthers life then their life can be taken as well for punishment. People also feel that they pay for what these criminals do. To hold an inmate in prison, on death row or not, its about $30,600 per year that comes straight out of our taxes. So in reality people feel that we pay for the mistakes of these criminals when some of them should be held to capital punishment for the crimes...

...Weaver Clayton Professor Mindy Duffner English 1030-11CN 3 March 2016 The Chance to Live Again Therapeutic cloning has the potential to treat several degenerative diseases, thereby defective genes could be replaced and help improve the lives of millions. However, cloning in the human sense has had a difficult start. DNA cloning has permitted the development of modern biology, in particular within the last forty years. In this time frame the world has passed from theories to actually cloning genes. Subsequently, The University of Utah Health Sciences did a study on the history of cloning: Mitalipov and colleagues were the first to use somatic cell nuclear transfer to create a human embryo. …In this experiment, researchers took a skin cell from a patient and fused it with a donated egg cell. Key to the success of the experiment was the modification to the culture liquid in which the procedure was done and to the series of electrical pulses used to stimulate the egg to begin its division. Following the cloning controversy of 2004–2005, in which South Korean scientists falsely claimed to have used somatic cell nuclear transfer to create embryonic stem cell lines, the scientific community demanded much stronger evidence that the procedure had actually been successful. (Learn. Genetics) Subsequently, many states in the US began to prohibit the use of therapeutic and reproductive cloning. Regardless, cloning should be decriminalized, with the stipulation that serious regulations...

Hofling's Arguement In Authority

...Ordinary people can do terrible things when told to by somebody in authority. Discuss. This essay will discuss obedience in authority, considering why people can do terrible things when instructed to by someone of a higher standing. It will first discuss social psychological explanations into obedience, outlining and evaluating agency theory and legitimate authority. It will then go onto evaluate the contrasting research of Milgram and Hofling’s studies into obedience, also looking at other similar studies. The third section will discuss and analyse the ethical issues into social psychological research referring to the specific issues contained in the studies of the previously mentioned psychologists. A conclusion will sum up the entirety of this essay, giving an answer to the discussion of ‘ordinary people can do terrible things when told to by someone in authority’. There have been many theories into why people will do bad things under authority, many have applied different theories to explain people’s blind followings into war and genocide, an example of this is Milgram’s 1973 Agency theory. Agency theory suggests that there are two mental states, the autonomous where we take responsibility for our own behaviour and therefore feel guilt for what we have done and the Agentic, one sees themselves as an agent for someone else’s actions often an authority figure and are no longer responsible for their actions and feel no guilt. The transition between these two states was named...
