“Do people who commit heinous crimes deserve the death penalty?”

Death penalty should be abolished or not? That is the one of the most important issues concerning many. Some say that it is the ultimate denial of human rights with others believing that it the fairest punishment for people that have committed heinous crimes. Beginning I want to state that most of the criminals that have committed a serious crime such as paedophilia or murder do not have a sense of humanity in them. Furthermore that happens because these people are so ignorant that they think they can do as they like by killing or raping, like the world belongs to them. Many argue that in cases like this death penalty should be enforced. Not only cause they have killed or rape but due to the fact that our prison system is in terrible condition. As a result to the overpopulation in the penal institutions it is widely believed even among criminals that our prisons are like universities of crime too them. Moreover people that exit penitentiary commit the same crimes or even worse. In the same way the paedophiles get away with committing the worst crime by being released after several years by committing the same crimes again and again.

On the other hand the arguments opposing to the death penalty are mainly ethical in their nature. Basically that is wrong to kill someone no matter the crime he has committed because we live in a civilized society. The reality though is that when you detain someone and not kill him you give him the opportunity to prove his innocence by giving someone the death penalty you can’t prove his innocence afterwards. By killing

Animal Testing Argumentative Essay

...The assignment I chose was an argumentative essay about animal testing. I had to choose a topic and write a essay about wether I agree or disagree on it. On this assignment, I learned how to write an argument with facts and not using my opinion. In order to get a good grade on this assignment we had to turn it in by the due date, have at least five competed paragraphs, two claims that supported our ideas, and one claim that was against our idea. I did the assignment in class and my teacher helped too. I researched all my information, then I organized everything I wrote down on paper. It was really hard at first to find information about animal testing, but then I could summarize what they said and put it into words I understood. I chose...

Argumentative Essay

...Argumentative Essay The function of an argumentative essay is to show that your assertion (opinion, theory, and hypothesis) about some phenomenon or phenomena is correct or more truthful than others'. The art of argumentation is not an easy skill to acquire. Many people might think that if one simply has an opinion, one can argue it successfully, and these folks are always surprised when others don't agree with them because their logic seems so correct. Argumentative writing is the act of forming reasons, making inductions, drawing conclusions, and applying them to the case in discussion; the operation of inferring propositions, not known or admitted as true, from facts or principles known, admitted, or proved to be true. It clearly explains the process of your reasoning from the known or assumed to the unknown. Without doing this you does not have an argument, you have only an assertion, an essay that is just your unsubstantiated opinion. Argumentative essays are often organized in the following manner: 1. They begin with a statement of your assertion, its timeliness, significance, and relevance in relation to some phenomenon. 2. They review critically the literature about that phenomenon. 3. They illustrate how your assertion is "better" (simpler or more explanatory) than others, including improved (i.e., more reliable or valid) methods that you used to accumulate the data (case) to be explained. Finally revise and edit, and be sure to apply the critical process to your...

Argumentative Essay

...Ruth Flores10/15/2014 INRW 0410 Monday & Wednesday Argumentative Essay Marriage: a legally recognized relationship, established by civil or religious ceremony, between two people who intend to live together as sexual and domestic partners. Typically this is between a man and a woman, in love, as they come before their families, to pledge to spend the rest of their lives together. As times continue to evolve around the world so has the idea and laws concerning marriage. Marriage is no longer just about a man and a woman committing themselves to each other for life, it now encompasses, gay and lesbians as well, as they pledge to love, honor, and trust each other all the days of their lives. This argumentative essay will explore logically both sides of the debate on whether gays and lesbians should be extended the same rights of marriage as heterosexuals have. The long-standing definition of marriage has been described as a union between one man and one woman who intend to procreate and become a family in the eyes of God and the community. Since same-sex couples cannot have children, they are forced to adopt and this places children into an 'unnatural' relationship. For children to develop properly, the child needs both parents in a loving environment. The institution of marriage has already been weakened by nearly half resulting in divorce, and allowing gays to marry may worsen the statistics. Others believe legalizing homosexual marriage will encourage other non-traditional...

...Unit 2 Assignment 1 Essay 1 Argumentative Essay “College Girl to Call Girl” If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it must be a duck. If you get paid to have sex, you are a prostitute. A lot has changed within the last one hundred years and not all for the best. It has come to the point where the “oldest” yet most ostracized profession in the world has become more socially acceptable and commonplace than ever in history. College students are choosing it as a means to paying for their education. Prostitution is not only dangerous physically and can attract all sorts of sexually transmitted diseases but it can also wear on someone’s mental stability. Stacy, a prostitute, obviously feels the stigma of people potentially knowing about her occupation and judging her without taking into account her intellect. She likes to think that she projects herself with respectability and professionalism while at the same time pretending that it is just a 9-5 office job. She justifies it by saying that she wouldn’t be able to afford school otherwise, that it’s only temporary and a means to pay all her bills. At the same time she keeps her activities a secret from family and friends. Her plans are to continue selling herself until she finishes school and then put it all behind her with a new career in advertising. Anna, a middle class raised and educated former prostitute, isn’t necessarily so much embarrassed but annoyed that people project such a negative image...

...Business Practice Argumentative Essay Lisbett De La Garza PHL/320 June 13, 2016 Professor, Bryan Carey Why is the business decision good before you open a business? the decision is good because when you open a business you should take the decision that best describes the business role. The importance of taking good decisions will be either prosperity of the business or worst later on consequences. Most of the consequences hurt when a wrong decision is taken. In order to have a good business it is important to take good decisions. The best way to earn more income to the company is to make sure you exchange opinion with people that have been in the business a longer time and have better business knowledge than you may have. Decisions taken can be good or bad for the future, for example if you get married to a man who love drinking, taking the decision of getting married with that person is not going to make that person change the way they are acting. Another sample I demonstrate is when a business is about to take a bad decision your business will suffer the consequences of taking wrong decisions. Later on is when the companies get to realize that instead of going to the left, they should have gone to the right to make better choices. Once we opened a business in Chicago Illinois, in fact a family business between my sister and I. She took a wrong decision of traveling all the time with her husband. By leaving me in the business not only the production was suffering but...

...Final Draft of Argumentative Essay Poverty is one of the most significant and serious issues in the world. Today, millions of people are dealing with the cruel life conditions and trying to reach proper health care, nutrition, and shelter to survive. While the awareness of poverty is increasing, the majority of societies still display less attention to the causes and outcomes of poverty. It has been argued that people are poor because of their own personal shortcomings. However, rather than blaming the poor people, we should focus on the real causes of poverty, such as, effects of the economic system, economic disadvantages caused by geographical factors, and the limitations of possible solutions. It has been claimed that because of cultural, religious, physical, or intellectual deficiencies, people are poor. In other words, many people believe that poverty is the fault of those poor people. However, the tendency of “blaming the victim” is actually the main cause of poverty (Boleria and Wotherspoon, 2000). Capitalism dominates almost all of the countries and creates enormous inequalities between social classes. Since capitalism is a profit-based system, wages of working class are restrained to maintain surplus value and reinforce the segmentation between well paid jobs and marginalized jobs. Poverty is one of the reflections of this profit-based system and it is particularly derived from the high unemployment rates, the huge gap between rich and poor, and unequal distribution...

...Argumentative Essay Animal Testing All around the world, animal testing has been a controversial and talked about topic. It has helped the human race become more advanced in sciences and technology. Could the human medicine be as advanced if animal testing not allowed? Animal testing has opened many doors for medicine and helped so many people with tragic illnesses like cancer and AIDS. Animal experiments and testing is a good thing because it makes safe drugs, safe cosmetics, and helps people with deadly illness. Animal research has played a major part in the development of medicine to make it safer for people to take. First, testing new medications on animals is very important before releasing it to the public. For example, a drug called Thalidomide was prescribed to pregnant women in Europe to reduce nausea. The Thalidomide medication caused 10,000 babies to have birth defects. “It was largely avoided in North America because federal health and drug agencies believed Thalidomide had not been adequately tested on animals” (Research). Another reason why it is important to test drugs on animals before giving it to humans is because back in 1937 an antibacterial drug was released and killed 107 people. Manufacturers at the time did not have to prove if drugs were safe to take before being sold. Drug testing on animals goes to prove how important it is for drugs to be experimented on animals before being released to the public. Second, since people are so much like animals...

Argumentative Essay

...Argumentative Essay Should we always tell the truth? Do you always tell the truth or lies? You are not likely to reply immediately because this question is very extreme. While we live, we cannot always tell the truth, and we also cannot always tell lies. May be, it will depend on the situation that you encountered. There are innumerable reasons why most people tell lies to others. Usually, we tell lies to hide own fault or show off ourselves. There are a little bit different lies, of course, these are white lies. White lies are also lies, but these can be understood by people because it does not have ill will. Except white lies, we should try to tell the truth. It is difficult, but it is important for us to be truthful with other people because by being honest, we can keep the relationship between people with faith, we show what is morally right, and we do not become a liar. Firstly, we can keep the relationship between people with faith by telling the truth. It means that there is trust between people to keep the relationship each other. Because of telling lies, however, they can loss mutual trust, so they cannot believe each other anymore. For example, when I was 14 years old, I made a friend who was very funny and active in middle school. We were best friend each other at that time. My thought and her thought were same, but the more I knew her deeply, the more I was disappointed. She usually told lies to me every day, so I was losing some trust about her gradually...

...Essay 3: Argumentative Revised Banks exist to make money. Their existence began a long time ago as people needed a safe place to keep their money. The currency of that time did not make it practical for an individual to carry it around or keep at home. Banks make money by taking what is deposited from its customer’s accounts and investing it in other opportunities. They also make money by offering credit cards, mortgage and loan services, and the fees they charge for maintaining customer accounts. The business of banking has been growing more competitive as different financial institutions such as credit unions and other companies have ventured into residential banking. With the technology advancements of Integrated Voice Response (IVR) and the Internet for online banking, services and enhancements have forced the banks to offer more user friendly ways to get access to money and information. The competition has also forced banks to review their internal processes for efficiencies to ensure they stay competitive. In order for banks to maintain their competitive advantage, they need to be constantly reviewing their processes to ensure that objectives are met quicker, more consistent, and with fewer errors. Thanks largely to technology, customers have evolved into wanting “instant gratification”. They know what they want and they require it immediately. If it is not being provided to satisfaction, there are 5 banking alternatives right on the next webpage...

...English p. 3 Argumentative Essay “If you bully someone face to face, and they get upset you see them cry and be hurt. When it’s over the Internet, you can’t see the emotional reaction and go along thinking it’s no big deal”, said by Robin Kowalski who is now a mentor for teens who have been cyber bullied. Cyber bullying is gossip, talk, or rumors about the personal or private affairs of other people. It is an important issue because it impacts teenagers emotionally and can ruin their lives. Cyber bullying is happening more often in today’s time than it did ten years ago and the end outcome has become more serious. Most teenagers worry about what other people think about them, and cyber bullying allows for everyone to know what that one person thinks. Teenagers who cyber bully believe they have the freedom of speech and are able to say whatever they want. They don’t think others should take words so seriously, and make a big deal out of it. The victims of cyber bullying need to put an end to it. Even though most teenagers are afraid of what others think and don’t want to be judged, Teens who are victims of cyber bullying should tell a teacher, parent, or an adult they trust, because in order to end cyber bullying someone needs to know, so it doesn’t stay hidden behind the computer screen and cause them harm. No teenager should have to go through being cyber bullied; in 1997 Georgia Woods attempted suicide after being bullied online. Someone posted a site about...
