In society today video games are huge industry. According to the Technology, Entertainment, Design website TED.com more than half a billion people play video games at least an hour a day. Some people agree that video games make kids violent, but there is evidence that they do not. The ways that video games are played cause people to get to know new people and to be happier in certain situations. There are some people with video games to affect them negatively but the majority of players are not violent because of video games. Video games do not make kids violent because they are completely fantasy; they are used as a relaxation tool and also for fun and competition. For thousands of years people have always liked at fantasy to escape from real life. Fantasy had been in different forms like art books movies and other medians as technology improved video games have now become a part of fantasy in people lives. Other forms of fantasy such as movies, and books had violence in them and have not caused people to be violent. Why world video games make people violent? People were always able to recognize that fantasy was not real neither the violence therefore they should be able to make the same distinction with video games. For video gamers games are another world. They are escaping from real life and coming into a place where you can do anything you can't do in real life. Even with so many wonderful thing a gasket can do and how much time you spend you still realized that it is not real it really cannot happen in video games. None of the violence or the activities in a game can be done on real life. There are a lot of things that people would like to do in real life. Some things can be flying, being invincible, or commit all crimes with no police or laws; I will be very unsuccessful. If you are stressed you are more likely to be violent. When you have a lot of stress built up you are more likely to feel pressured or feel like you have so many things on your plate that you are not able to do anything about it. When you have a lot of stress you are more inclined to be angrier, sad, depressed and pressured. With all these feelings in your head you are more likely to be violent. Some stresses get us going and those are good for us. Then there is the dangerous stress which is when it starts affecting us mentally and physically. When we have a lot of the bad stress it is not good because you become violent leading to a lot of bad things.

Video games can be a great tool for stress relief. After a long day on schoolkids user it to relax. It helps because instead of taking your frustration out on someone causing harm you use it to relax. It helps breeziest instead of taking your frustration or on someone causing harm you take it out while playing a game that is harmless. If video gaming makes you more of a relaxed person you ate less likely to explode on people and start actual violence. There is research proving that people are more likely to relieve stress with video games. An online survey done in Germany in which there were 1614 participants. The survey according to Leonard Reinicke showed that people with different types of stress tended to result positive with the use of video games. It is a great relief tool because users adapt their issue patterns to their current life situation.

A lot of people claim that the reason for the violence in the world is caused by video games. The video game industry is big, and it keeps growing among youth, and the top selling video games are violent games. Video games can make kid violent because nowadays the games are so realistic and well developed that a lot of kid ate gullible enough to believe it. Out of society the group that is more concerned and worried about how some games make kids violent is the parents. They worry more because they are concerned about their child becoming very violent but part of the problem comes from the parents because they allow the child to get "that game" that everyone is playing that happens to have a lot of violence in it. Out of the many things that people use video games for they are also used to make friends. How do you make friends when playing video games? Well when you play a game online with anyone in the world you become competitive and you also become better or worse than others. While playing you encounter a lot of different things and when you play you can communicate to another player through a microphone. When you encounter something that you and your opponent/teammate agree on, for example the level or game you are playing, you get to know each other. There is also a lot of video game related activities, conventions and expositions that you can attend worldwide where you meet other gamers and get to learn about future video games. A famous exposition that happens every year in the United States is calle E3. this expo is very famous because it is a time where gamers from everywhere come and see what are going to be the future video games that are going to be launched and they get to experience the games by playing them. at the expo gamers meet other gamers that have the same things in common and they become friends. When you meet friends and you feel god around them you are happy and less inclined to violence. If you were to take video games away a lot of people wouldn't know each other.

Playing video games make you more competitive. competition is a good thing up to a certain point. It cannot be taken to the extreme because then not a lot of people will like you. competition is good because you need it as a tool in real life situations. some situations that you might need it are school, work, sports and games. It is good to be competitive because it helps you in a baseball game, a job competition or a game of chess. One of the top selling games right now is Grand Theft Auto V developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar games. This game has a lot of violence if the title doesn’t give it away. It is about completing missions alive without getting killed by another criminal or arrested by the cops. This games allows people to be in a world where you can do almost anything that you can’t do legally in real life. A lot of people like this game because it makes them feel like they are really a criminal and nothing can happen to you. This also causes a lot of competition by causing gamers to compete on who has the further level reached or who has had the most crime accomplished etc. Another top selling game right now is NBA 2K14, it is developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. This game is about professional basketball. You can play like any player in the NBA. This game is liked by a lot of people because it is a scapegoat from real life. When they play this game they can play as their favorite basketball player and have all the moves that player has. They also do things that they can’t do like dunk or dribble a basketball. This game causes a lot of competition among players because they compete on whether who has the most points scored in a game or what player is better. The competition caused by this game i believe is good because when you play a real basketball game you look up to a player and hope to be them.

Recreation is essential in a person’s life. Fun is different for everyone. For some people fun can be skydiving, cleaning, reading a book, or playing a sport, but for others video games are a way of having fun. Without recreation it is easier to become angry or sad which can lead to violent behavior. By having a lot of fun you are more likely to be happy and if you are happy you are less likely to be violent. If you use video games as a way of recreation you are having more fun and being happier causing you to be less violent.

In conclusion the video game industry is big and it is still growing, there are over one billion people playing video games at least on hour a day according to TED.com. A lot of people still believe that video games make kids violent, but they don’t. They are fantasy and are used as a relaxation tool and teach players to be more competitive. Video games are a fantasy where people use it to escape from real life and do things they are not able to accomplish in reality. Video games help you to relieve your stress because you take your anger out on someone in a game instead of causing violence in real life. When playing video games you make friends and it is good to make you happy when playing.

An explanation of the topics students may choose is discussed below. This is a two-part assignment, including a review of sources and a first draft submission, and the final draft, both with a corresponding due date. For those unsure about a topic, you could consider one related to the very topics we have discussed this semester, including arguments related to higher education or poverty in America. These sources must be used as support for the claims students make. A separate works cited page is also required. It is strongly suggested that students use the databases provided by the library for research of secondary sources. Remember to refer to the Argument document posted on iCampus to review critical elements of argument, which include claims, qualifying/absolute language, and tips on tone of voice. The essay must be written in MLA format, and in-text citations must also follow MLA documentation. Use sources to back up, support, your claims rather than serve as claims or main points themselves. ...Argumentative Neftali Ortiz ITT Technical The Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (D.A.D.T.) Policy was signed on Dec. 1993, until its repeal on Sept. 2011. This policy allowed gay men and women to serve with militants; however, it prohibits them from serving openly. It denied them the right to express themselves. D.A.D.T. however wrong in many ways it may have been, it was the first step in recognizing our gay men and women, who were and are serving our country. With just in a decade, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Lawrence vs. Texas, the courts, in a 6-3 decision, declared sodomy laws unconstitutional. With this ruling it leaves the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy of the United States Military, once again, open to debate and challenge. If the court’s ruling and thought process in its ruling is applied, then the “D.A.D.T” policy will not stand the same scrutiny. In the majority opinion written by Justice Kennedy it was stated, “Liberty presumes an autonomy of self that includes freedom of thought, belief, expression, and certain sexual conduct.” (Kennedy 2003). Using this reasoning, the long standing basis of the military’s ban and dismissal of homosexual or lesbian service members is called into serious question as to its validity. According to military policy, A member of the armed forces shall be separated from the armed forces under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Defense if one or more of the following findings is made and approved in accordance...

It brings out the bad stereotypes in people (Kenya). People’s personal life are being taped on a daily basis. It can ruin culture image or a person’s life. Young teens are out of control, and are portrayed as loudmouth who only care about themselves. different stereotypes are shown about gender. There are many stereotypes in reality television. Reality television is promoting dangerous stereotypes in our society, culture, teens, race, and male and female. Reality television have damaged my home and even my sisters are falling into the messages they are sending. Should reality television be ban like some television shows? Government officials have banned some of South Park and family Guy episodes. So why can’t they ban reality television shows or ban some of them to aired? It does not teach anything useful. People become addicted to it very often. Anything excessive is not reality. In reality, people do not slum around the pool all day getting wasted. Reality does not consist of girls having make up on every hour of the day. In reality, people go to work, and spouses don’t sit around the house all day gossiping about their friend’s life or what is happening in another city. People on reality shows need to grow up and get a job. They need to stop relying on others to support them because that is all reality producer...

...Compare/Contrast Essay “Romeo And Juliet” and “Much Ado About Nothing”   There are many similarities between Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing  and Romeo and Juliet.  Was this Intentional or Accidental? Even though Much Ado About Nothing is a comedy, and Romeo and Juliet, is one of his saddest tragedies, the two plots share many common incidents. Did Shakespeare mean to have these coincidences or did they happen by accident? In both of his dramatic works, the Masque is a key element furthering the infatuation of the lovers. Also the balcony scenes in both plays are crucial because without them the plot could never have reached its denouement. It seems that God came into both of the plays in the spirit of the friars, because they had good plans to keep love together. In both plays, the masque functions as a dramatic device which initiates the love plot. It occurs in a social gathering, but not without the help of costumes. If it were not for costumes the result of love might have been drastically different. How was the masque used to get lovers together? In the case of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo hears about the masque and decides to go, thinking that he might be able to get away with this scheme. Upon entering he sees Juliet and right away, he knows it is love. If he had not worn the costume, the hosts might have ejected him from the party and he might not have met Juliet. Much Ado About Nothing has...

...Jeanine Ingalls Professor Linda Gross-O’ Neil English 099 3 December 2014 Beauty Pageants By wearing costumes, pretty shoes, and caking your face with makeup, a beauty pageant seems like a lot of fun for young girls. Dressing up like a Disney princess, winning an extravagant tiara, or lots of cash sounds perfect, right? Wrong. These girls are learning from a young age things that they shouldn't be taught. They are all dolled up in clothes and makeup and hair products that their parents spend thousands of dollars on that could be put towards important things, such as their children’s' futures. They are not developing any sort of personality or education; just what is taught through these competitions. Most importantly, they are learning to be comfortable with becoming a completely new girl that hides her sense of realness with fake eyelashes, and a pound of makeup. Beauty pageants are a way to exploit young women, and are killing the mockingbird within these children.      The first American beauty pageant took place in 1854. It was quickly shut down by public protest. Another American pageant didn't come along for thirty more years, when one was held in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This time it was not shut down to protests due to the strict rules and regulations. The women also wore modest clothing. Beauty pageants continued to grow in popularity, but the 1920s was when the idea of pageants completely changed. The 20's were a time of economic growth, and social...

...GMAT ARGUMENT ESSAY ASSIGNMENT The common notion that workers are generally apathetic about management issues, according to this author, is false, or at least outdated. The author supported his claim with the premise that, a recently published survey indicated that 79% of the nearly 1,200 workers who responded to the survey questionnaires expressed a high level of interest in the topics of corporate restructuring and redesign of benefits programs. However, a critical review of the claim and its premise cast some doubts on the validity of the argument. First, corporate restructuring and redesign of benefit programs is a small part of management issues and thus cannot be used as a basis to say workers have interest in management issues. Second, for workers to have merely indicate on a questionnaire that they have interest in the topics of corporate restructuring and design of benefit programs is not enough to conclude that they actually do it in reality. Finally, a generalization made from the result of a survey with a sample size of 1,200 workers without stating the population size is not adequate. First and foremost, the discussion will touch on the inadequacy of the premise as against the claim. With this, I state that, corporate restructuring and redesign of benefit programs is a small part of management issues and thus cannot be used as a basis to say workers have interest in management issues. Management issues encompass several measures. These are inclusive of spinning...

...AGAINST ALL ONE NEEDS IN THIS LIFE ARE GOOD LOOKS, THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS AND LUCK. All of us known about many successful persons that have lived in our country or other sides of the country. Also, we always hear about their great efforts and perseverance to achieve their goals in life. I believe, this statement is not true that luck is the agent of success in our life. As mentioned above, there are many professional people and their approach for attaining success. Many scientist and famous musicians always have noted that they got to their positions with hard work. They have failed more and more in their ways of success until they have been able to achieve their goals. Therefore, we can’t say that their success has been achieved by chance even though in few times having the luck help them getting their results or goals to succeed sooner than lacking of it. On the other hand, when we decided to have succeeded we should have done some things to gain what we want. For example, if we want to get good scores in our exams, we should study extremely hard and it is achieved this goal only without having luck. Had work is agent of success in graduation for each professor and scientists, and is the main reason of becoming stars for artists or musicians. without attempting; none of them could become prosperous in their major field. ...h essay Argumentative Research Essay Introduction Description When you write an argumentative essay, you investigate a controversial issue (considering both sides), determine which side you favour, and argue using evidence and examples both to support your claims and to refute counter-arguments. A controversial (or contentious) issue is one that is debatable and has a logical counter-argument. An argumentative research essay formalizes the way you gather your supporting evidence. Purpose When you write an argumentative essay, you want to make your readers agree with your stance on an issue (i.e., to persuade them). You may also wish to make your readers act on the issue, in which case you will have to specify what they should do. Audience To reinforce for your readers your credibility (ethos), you will * employ a formal tone * include much evidence from outside sources to support your arguments * analyse these arguments in depth You should consider whether or not your audience is familiar with the issue. If not, you will have to provide more background information than you would for a knowing audience. You should gauge your readers’ stance on the issue. Are they * supportive? (i.e., do they agree with your stance?) * hostile? (i.e., do they disagree with your stance?) * wavering? (i.e., have they yet to take a stance on the issue?) Your readers’ stance will influence the amount and kinds of evidence you will need to support your arguments. Topic ...

Argumentative Essay

...Argumentative Essay The function of an argumentative essay is to show that your assertion (opinion, theory, and hypothesis) about some phenomenon or phenomena is correct or more truthful than others'. The art of argumentation is not an easy skill to acquire. Many people might think that if one simply has an opinion, one can argue it successfully, and these folks are always surprised when others don't agree with them because their logic seems so correct. Argumentative writing is the act of forming reasons, making inductions, drawing conclusions, and applying them to the case in discussion; the operation of inferring propositions, not known or admitted as true, from facts or principles known, admitted, or proved to be true. It clearly explains the process of your reasoning from the known or assumed to the unknown. Without doing this you does not have an argument, you have only an assertion, an essay that is just your unsubstantiated opinion. Argumentative essays are often organized in the following manner: 1. They begin with a statement of your assertion, its timeliness, significance, and relevance in relation to some phenomenon. 2. They review critically the literature about that phenomenon. 3. They illustrate how your assertion is "better" (simpler or more explanatory) than others, including improved (i.e., more reliable or valid) methods that you used to accumulate the data (case) to be explained. Finally revise and edit, and be sure to apply the critical process to your...

That is the one of the most important issues concerning many. Some say that it is the ultimate denial of human rights with others believing that it the fairest punishment for people that have committed heinous crimes. Beginning I want to state that most of the criminals that have committed a serious crime such as paedophilia or murder do not have a sense of humanity in them. Furthermore that happens because these people are so ignorant that they think they can do as they like by killing or raping, like the world belongs to them. Many argue that in cases like this death penalty should be enforced. Not only cause they have killed or rape but due to the fact that our prison system is in terrible condition. As a result to the overpopulation in the penal institutions it is widely believed even among criminals that our prisons are like universities of crime too them. Moreover people that exit penitentiary commit the same crimes or even worse. In the same way the paedophiles get away with committing the worst crime by being released after several years by committing the same crimes again and again. On the other hand the arguments...

...Ruth Flores10/15/2014 INRW 0410 Monday & Wednesday Argumentative Essay Marriage: a legally recognized relationship, established by civil or religious ceremony, between two people who intend to live together as sexual and domestic partners. Typically this is between a man and a woman, in love, as they come before their families, to pledge to spend the rest of their lives together. As times continue to evolve around the world so has the idea and laws concerning marriage. Marriage is no longer just about a man and a woman committing themselves to each other for life, it now encompasses, gay and lesbians as well, as they pledge to love, honor, and trust each other all the days of their lives. This argumentative essay will explore logically both sides of the debate on whether gays and lesbians should be extended the same rights of marriage as heterosexuals have. The long-standing definition of marriage has been described as a union between one man and one woman who intend to procreate and become a family in the eyes of God and the community. Since same-sex couples cannot have children, they are forced to adopt and this places children into an 'unnatural' relationship. For children to develop properly, the child needs both parents in a loving environment. The institution of marriage has already been weakened by nearly half resulting in divorce, and allowing gays to marry may worsen the statistics. Others believe legalizing homosexual marriage will encourage other non-traditional...
