While Arizona Snowbowl is home to one of the state’s largest ski and snowboard resorts, it is also subject to multiple forms of controversy. Since it’s opening in 1938, multiple tribes as well as community groups have spoken out against its construction due to the fact that the San Francisco peaks are sacred to at least 13 different Native American tribes here in Arizona.
