...Origami: the ancient art of folding paper into different beautiful objects, like the classic crane. If you were asked me how it has affected me, or how I think it’ll affect me in the future, this is what I’d say. Origami has not affected me, but I think it will in the future, through the things I used to do with it, and being complete trash at it, I think it will affect me later though. As of right now, oragami has not inspired me or affected me. Is say this because as of today i have not made that much oragami items. As a child i did make fortune tellers, but, I wasn’t that good at the time. So, I got to work to get better, and in time, I was. Then I started trying more, and learned that there was much harder than i thought. But, I do not...

...Identify the Business With the revolution of mobile apps on smartphones and tablets, many individuals have found life more entertaining and easier. Everything from airline reservations, to online banking, and social media are linking friends and families all over the world. Consumers have access to over 1.5 million apps available in the Apple App Store and Google Play (Warman, 2013). Rochester General Health Systems (RGH) is a local hospital found in Rochester, NY. It is one of three hospitals that residents of Monroe County have access to within a seventeen mile stretch. Now that most hospitals have integrated from the use of paper based patient charts to electronic medical records (EMR), healthcare providers have reached levels of patient care that were not available before. With EMR, patient charts are never lost. Providers are able to send a copy very fast to any office around the world. Doctors can field questions from the patient or another doctor with the virtual chart available for review in a few seconds (Friedman, 2008). All this sound pretty advanced and a huge step for furthering patient care. The Future of Hospitals The implications of the web on the future of the hospital business are amazing. ...development of personal computer and tablet to a new direction. In the technology development, Apple created its own operating system called Mac OSX for its computer. Unlike other competitors who need to rely on Microsoft Windows, Apple can even support Windows system without affecting its own system and avoid Microsoft monopolize the market. Besides, nowadays more and more business is using computer to do e-retailing, Apple also invested a lot on the virus protection in which it can claim that users need not to worry about the hackers’ attack. The above advantages make iMac be more attractive to customers in which it became a market challenger in computer system market. Moreover, the targets consumers of iMac are professionals such as art designer, photographer and film maker. Therefore, Apple has put a lot effort on the resolution and display which makes it more close to the real color. Besides, Apple also programmed a special system for vision disabilities. The VoiceOver is more user friendly to the disable where they can use gestures to command iMac. It helps to wider its business opportunity as the market of vision disable is not that well developed. ...though? How can Gatorade's numbers grow even greater? Tapping into the social media realm to me is the way to go. Forms of media such as newspapers, magazines and even television to a certain point are dead forms of marketing. How often to see someone reading the newspaper or reading a magazine? There are reasons that most papers and publications have "E-books" of their content because this isn't 1985 anymore. Computers, Tablets, and Phones are the new way to market. Tapping into that market is the key to growing what is already a global product. Even television is a lost art in the world of marketing because of the introduction of DVR. Some services like Hulu Plus and Netflix will force viewers to watch an ad before continuing the programing. I am not saying to completely clean the slate of TV ads but more ad dollars need to be pushed into the digital age. The first thing to do is to offer 50% off their next bottle of Gatorade for anyone who downloads the new Gatorade app. The app will be for IPhone, Droid and any smartphone. It will allow people to enter Gatorade experiences and participate in drawings for free products. You want your app to be exciting and...

...that programmers now are so far into coding and no one else can understand it, with object-oriented languages, programming with pictures, it will be fun and anybody can do it. The research that I will conduct to support my claim will feature discussing past programming methods, systems that do not use methods and those that are using it to amplify work production. In addition to this new easy to software languages available today why not upgrade and safe time and money. Thru evaluating and exploring programs across the country and even the world, I can determine how and why object-oriented languages are necessary to today’s working environment. How the project topic is influenced by (and/or influences) history, culture, media, and/or the arts from a national or world perspective These are some of the major advantages of OOP. Simplicity: software objects model real world objects, so the complexity is reduced and the program structure is very clear. Modularity: each object forms a separate entity whose internal workings are decoupled from other parts of the system. Modifiability: it is easy to make minor changes in the data representation or the procedures in an OO program. Thus, this will influence the world perspective that programming is not so hard. Audience The intended audiences for my proposal are software development companies. I believe that I can encourage them to combine or advance their technology to not only improve their work productive, but to boost their...

Abstract Ownership of mobile smartphones amongst the general consumer, professionals and students is growing exponentially. The potential for smartphones in education builds upon experience described in the extensive literature on mobile learning from the previous decade which suggests that the ubiquity, multi-functionality and connectivity of mobile devices offers a new and potentially powerful networked learning environment. This paper reports on a collaborative study conducted by an undergraduate student with the support of two members of academic staff. The research sought to establish the extent to which students are autonomously harnessing smartphone technology to support their learning and the nature of this use. Initial findings were explored through student interviews. The study found that students who own smartphones are largely unaware of their potential to support learning and, in general, do not install smartphone applications for that purpose. They are, however,...

By DAVID POGUE Published: September 18, 2012 If you were taking a college course called iPhone 101, your professor might identify three factors that have made Apple’s smartphone a mega-success. Enlarge This Image Peter DaSilva for The New York Times The iPhone 5, top, and iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5’s smaller connector does not fit existing accessories, docks or chargers. First, design. A single company, known for its obsession over details, produces both the hardware and the software. The result is a single, coherently designed whole. Second, superior components. As the world’s largest tech company, Apple can call the shots with its part suppliers. It can often incorporate new technologies — scratch-resistant Gorilla glass, say, or the supersharp Retina screen — before its rivals can. Third, compatibility. The iPhone’s ubiquity has led to a universe of accessories that fit it. Walk into a hotel room, and there’s probably an iPhone connector built into the alarm clock. If you had to write a term paper for this course, you might open with this argument: that in creating the new iPhone 5 ($200 with contract), Apple strengthened its first two advantages...

...White Night is known for it’s cultural diversity of arts, music, fashion and many more passions across the city of Melbourne. It is a planned event that happens every year in the month of February, and commences at 7pm and concludes at 7am. It was originated in Paris, France in 2002, in an attempt to make art and culture accessible to large audiences within public spaces. Paris’ Nuit Blanche (White Night) has inspired an international network of programmes in over 20 cities (White Night Melbourne, 2013). Last year in February Melbourne was the first city in Australia to hold this remarkable event, and unite the ranks of these worldwide cities creating similar all-night events. The event is intended as an ephemeral ''moment in time'' that would light up the city to reveal an art-filled wonderland and then vanish soon after sunrise (Cuthbertson & Northover, 2013). The festival is a fantastic chance to showcase Melbourne as Australia’s international city of artistic improvements, and celebrate the city’s commitment to art, culture and music. The opening of White Night Melbourne involved more than 300,000 people into the heart of the city. The unique festival is accessible to all ages and it attracts people from interstate. Because it is such an immense event that occurs all night and is based into the city centre, multiple roads are blocked for the hundred of thousands of guests attending and walking the streets of the magnificent light shows occurring. Projections of...

...Sony Music Entertainment in Tokyo for a month. I’ve participated in some meetings to consider marketing plans for musicians. One main reason of the sales declination is an illegal downloading. Although laws prohibit illegal downloading, there are still massive illegal downloading websites on the Internet. However, global music sales in 2012 increased for the first time since 1999, and the number of songs downloaded illegally was declined to 210 million in comparison to 1.2 billion in 2008. [3 Sherwin] It seems that music companies finally found some efficient ideas to overcome illegal downloaders. Do music companies actually increase their profits? And how did music companies start adjusting the situation? The purpose of the research paper is to figure out the main reasons why music sales finally increased, any differences to market music products and if the situation of music companies and musicians has improved or not. Findings * Development of Music Stream Services Rather than regarding Internet as a “main virus” of sales declination, music companies use digital media to expand their business. Launch and growth of music streaming services, mainly Spotify, has caused significant loss on illegal downloading service. Before launching...
