...Gay Marriages Kimberly Sousa BUSCOM/275 Version 2 May 9, 2013 Kevin McCoyd Article Rebuttal The paper will have the contents of an article I decided to do for reasons that will be revealed in the conclusion. The topic is from the New York Daily News Gay Marriage the title is “Five arguments against gay marriage: Society must brace for corrosive change.” The author talks about many areas of concerns throughout the article. One is religious freedom “A recent Newsday editorial said opponents “will be seen by future generations in much the same light as those who opposed school desegregation. Devout Catholics, Orthodox Jews and, ironically, the 70% of African-Americans who oppose gay marriage will become the new Ku Klux Klan?” I do not agree with this, I have not seen a traditional marriage yet or and I do not believe one exist either. Families today have an enormous amount of pain involved with their marriages like seeking other sexual services for one, amongst many other violation of the marriage law and some of them are considered “unnatural”. The second argument is the Rights of Children. In the article the author says “More children living in gay homes means more children living lives absent a relationship with at least one biological parent. This will result in some emotional pain and confusion”. A study published in Pediatrics on June 7, 2010 found that children of lesbian mothers were rated higher than children of heterosexual parents in social and academic...

...Article Summary Assignment #1 – FYSM 1310B For:Shevaun Corey By: Emily Harper 100888180 October 10th, 2012 The initial part of this article, “When should evidence be disclosed in an interview with a suspect? An experiment with mock-suspects” (2009) by Steven Sellars and Mark R. Kebbell, is a review of different experiments done by others regarding the strength of evidence and timing of disclosure of the evidence to suspects of crimes. This paper is important because it provides useful knowledge for police to have when interviewing suspects and trying to get confessions. According to different researchers referenced in this article the consensus is that if you have strong evidence against suspects it leads to a higher rate of confession. However there seems to be more controversy in the studies of when the evidence should be disclosed to suspects. Some say it should be very early on in the interview. Others say it can be dangerous to disclose evidence early if your goal is a confession because the suspect will become defensive and go into denial mode and stay there. The...

...This article was first published on Salon, a website that has an audience favoring liberals more than conservatives. This article also has an audience of a younger generation that follows hit movies. Garett Reppenhagen served as a Cavalry Scout Sniper with the 1st Infantry Division in the US Army, and is also a veteran advocate and social justice organizer. Garett’s background has a lot of relevance to this topic. I would say he is credible towards this whole subject. He is qualified to make judgment and criticize the way this movie is trying to depict Iraq. Garett’s extrinsic ethos is that he has served in the military. He has made a profession of being a real life sniper so he knows most of the scenarios that go on in the movie. He could also describe what goes on as you enter a war zone and how each and every person reacts. Garett states, "But viewing the war only through his eyes gives us too narrow frame." I believe this quote shows he cares about the audience because he wants to share that the frame of Iraq is not narrow, in fact it is on the contrary. Iraq is full of hospitality, proud history, and old-soul wisdom. This quote also shows virtue and goodness because he does not make the mistake of thinking the Iraqi’s are savages, like the movie may portray. Practical wisdom is also shown in this quote because without it Garett would not know that Chris Kyle’s views are narrow, but instead they should be broad and more flexible. The tone of this particular article is straightforward...

...1) Joanna Goodman, Connecting people is a recipe for innovation at cadbury. (2009, Knowledge Management Review (Online), , 1-N_A. a. Summary: This article is dedicated to the description of the concept in which social networking (knowledge management) within one company on several levels lead to success. In this case attention is set for Science & Technology (S&T) of Cadbury. In article it is fully described the whole process of developing a new product and how this process is supported by networking. Several levels of networks exists. Lowest level is inter-office network, in which workers can share their ideas and experiences; the highest is Cadbury and acquired companies’ network, where one member of S&T can leave his work to another member of S&T, maybe even to those who works on different product types. For example chewing gum developer can invent structure and principle, leaving his project for chocolate developers for inventing new taste. Later on it will be sent to marketing department, but this is whole different story. Another positive aspect of KM is socialization. Not only KM provides possibility for employees to speak and discuss current issues, it also has a place for company magazines and newsletters. The newsletter supports Cadbury's employees by highlighting initiatives and celebrating success. But KM is a difficult subject to manage. Firstly it is difficult to manage trainers and supervisors for communities, who are very important part of whole project....

...I used to play soccer for a club, just for recreational purposes,in fact i was one of the cofounders of the team. The team we assembled was a mixture of young and old, and for this reason we were the laughing stock of the league, because all other teams were made up solely of young players, who were exceptionally talented. The team ended up on the wrong side of the score for the first few games we played, and got nicknamed the “whopping boys”. Eventually we grew tired of the nickname and of our performances on the field, and we decided to try and improve things, first thing we did was to elect a leader for the club. Even though i didnʼt want the job, i was voted into the position, and as the president it was my duty to represent my team when the league called for club meetings. At the time we were all students, so it was decided that we would all contribute towards any and all expenses, but unfortunately when you dealing with a blend of young and old, things donʼt always go according to plan, people constantly made up excuses for not showing up for practice, or for not contributing towards our equipment. Even though it wasnʼt my duty, i took it upon myself to ensure that every single player showed up for practice, i used to drive up to the houses of all those who didnʼt have any transportation. It was a tiring job, but i realized that if i wanted the team to be successful, i had to make certain sacrifices, some of which included taking money out of my own pocket...
