You are required to hand in this assignment in person. Your assignment must have a properly completed School Assessment Coversheet, with the declaration signed and dated by hand. The Coversheet can be downloaded from http://languages.arts.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/. Your completed assignment should be submitted before 4:00pm on 9 May to the School Assignment Box, which is opposite the School of Humanities and Languages Office on Level 2, Morven Brown Building. Look for the box specifically marked by ‘Korean’. Assignments received after 4:00pm on 9 May will be marked as having been received late and attract a penalty. It is your responsibility to make a backup copy of the assignment prior to submission and retain it.

You are given – let’s assume – W300,000 (삼십만원). With the money, you are going to buy something to eat and drink, as much as possible, at 이마트몰 (E‐Mart Mall). First, go to the E‐Mart Mall website (http://www.emart.com/index.do?method=getIndex), browse through what’s on sale under the FOOD category, decide what you want to buy, and list them in the table below. Your list should show what you’re buying (eg, 콜라, 라면, …), unit price (eg, 1 개에 1,300 원, …), how many of them you’re buying (eg, 3 통, 1 킬로, ...), and prices sub‐total per item (eg, 26,000 원, …). Make sure that you should buy more than 20 items (but, don’t overspend); give the grand total in the last row of the table. Second, you write a paragraph in Korean below, based on what you have in the table above, detailing your shopping plan. TASK 2 Practise reading aloud, as much as you can, what you have written for the TASK 1 above. Then, record your reading, save it in your computer, and send to your Tutor (in charge of your 1 hr Tut) as email attachment by the due date (before 4:00pm on 9 May). Your voice file should be saved in either mp3 or wav format, and named as YOURGIVENNAME_YOURSURNAME_YOURSTUDENTNUMBER_ASSIGN2.mp3, or YOURGIVENNAME_YOURSURNAME_YOURSTUDENTNUMBER_ASSIGN2.wav. 10% of your score will be deducted if your file is named incorrectly.
