As the world economic recovery continues to be uncertain and fragile, global FDI inflows have declined by 18%, from $1.65 trillion in 2011 to $1.35 trillion in 2012. Inflows decreased both in developed and developing economies.16 However, while the majority of developed countries experienced a significant reduction in their FDI inflows, by 32% on average, those to developing economies remained relatively resilient, declining by only 4% on average.
