...order to provide a thorough overview of how I plan to develop and implement the two week unit project, I will discuss each day of the eight day project. My discussions will include some of the questions I will ask to stimulate their curiosity and encourage positive choices. I will also describe some possible activities that may help guide them towards the goals that they wish to accomplish. However, as this project is completely student-driven, I will certainly need to adapt my questioning strategies and change the proposed activities in order to support the actual choices that the students make during the project. Therefore, the following overview provides only an estimated framework for the project. Timing is very flexible. If it take two days longer to complete, that will be fine. If the students finish sooner, we can always add to it. In the first lesson, the key objectives are for the students to understand what endangered animals are and for them to be motivated to want to help them. The students will watch a brief, funny video clip of the animated movie, Ice Age. The teacher will ask questions, such as, “What animals did you see?” It is anticipated that the students will reply that...

...There are many types of interesting people in the world that could help you. The story "Scholarship Jacket" by Marta Salinas and the story "7th Grade" by Gary Soto are about helping others. They share a common theme. Both stories teach people that help can come from different places or from different people. If you ask for help, you will get help. In the story "Scholarship Jacket" by Marta Salinas, there is a girl named Martha who has had perfect grades for eight years. One day the principle told her that she would have to pay fifteen dollars to get the jacket. When she got home she asked her grandpa for fifteen dollars to buy the scholarship jacket. He said no because it would be something you paid for and not earned. The next day she told...

...Excellence 25 Ways to Get the Most Out of Now There are several time management techniques to help a person get the most out of now. The following ten methods are what I feel to be most beneficial: 1. Be aware of your best time of day. Being aware of the best time of day to study is especially beneficial to me because throughout the years, I have learned that no matter how hard I try I cannot study late at night – least wise not effectively. I know I am simply a morning student. Knowing when you are most productive helps to schedule your day and also reduces the guilty feeling of “slow” periods because you have planned for them. 2. Learn to say no. In the beginning of my studies, learning to say no was an easy task for me. I was excited about class and I wanted to succeed. As school continued, I found it harder to say no because I was nervous friends and family would begin to think I was “giving them excuses.” I learned an effective way to communicate my needs with them, and soon “saying no” was a perfectly acceptable and efficient response for both parties. 3. Avoid noise distractions. Avoiding noise distractions is an area that requires the most focus for me. I cannot study or work when I have background noise. Knowing this helps to plan my activities throughout the day so I can be the most productive and not back track my efforts constantly. 4. Ask: Would I pay myself for what I’m doing right now? Asking if you would pay yourself for the activity and...

...I should take my Leader to the side and ask her if we can talk. When we have our talk, I will ask her about what is going on in her personal life. Typically when a once motivated, straight as an arrow Soldier starts to lack in those areas, something from their personal life has an affect on her job. I would start the conversation off with the positive notes, and then I would tell her that I’ve noticed some changes recently. I would ask specific questions, “How is your family doing? How is their living arrangement? How is your financial situation?” Etc. If she is open to talk about her personal life, then I would make sure I am listening. I would also make sure that others know what is going on as well. I would also ask around our section to see if any other Soldiers have noticed a change of behavior. I would direct her to some resources that will help her in any way. I would periodically check back in with my Leader to ask her how things are going. PARENT POST I would have a personal conversation with the Soldier to ask her why her performance is degraded. If she decides to tell me what is going on I would see if it’s an isolated incident or if she needs to speak to someone that can help her with her issues. If the issue is of a more serious nature I would refer her to the appropriate counseling agencies on post that can help her. I would inform my Platoon Sergeant of the Soldier’s performance problems and of the conversation that we had, so that it can be elevated to the...

...sales process are set once rapport has been established. The parameters are set around the amount of time required for the meeting, and what the prospect's objectives are for that time frame, followed by your objectives. You must request permission to ask questions and to take notes, then, ensure the customer is comfortable with the fact you may not be able to help them in the end. Remember you cannot solve everyone's problem. A simple statement like, "I may or may not be able to help you. If I can't, are you ok with me telling you that I cannot help? If I'm able to help, I will inform you immediately... Are we comfortable this honest approach with each other and working on a "yes or no" basis? " 3. Uncover buying motivators Buying motivators are the reason people buy and they are usually emotional reasons. Your job is to ask questions during this part of the sales process in order to uncover the buying motivators. Without buying motivators, there is no reason to buy. No pain, no gain. 4. Uncover financial ability In this step of the sale process, you summarize the buying motivators and uncover the extent of their budget by asking a question such as, "Do you have a budget set aside for these issues?" If the answer is no, ask, "How do you intend to proceed?" However, if the answer is yes,...
