Evaluation of the ideas The report analyzes the degree of innovativeness of the ideas proposed in the group presentation. It uses the NAF [Novelty, Attractiveness & Feasibility study] approach to assess the ideas presented in the presentation. I chose the approach because it is simple to use and strategic in the idea selection process. Each idea presented in the essay should be scored 1-10 for the following three aspects: 1. Novelty – it concerns how novel the idea is and the degree of novelty determines its creativity 2. Attractiveness – it ascertains the attractiveness of the idea. For instance, does it absolutely solve the existing problem? Or is it just a fractional solution. 3. Feasibility/Practicability – how feasible is the idea in being put into practice? Is it really feasible?

Part One Part one of the essay presents the idea social programs and diverse activities. In this part, I will evaluate two concepts, first the social program and the CATWOE analysis approach using the model.
Social Programs According to Laughlin (2011, p 22), the return of corporate benefits to the community is one of the most important policies of Samsung. For purposes of sustaining these social welfare programs, the company normally requires its employees to voluntarily participate in these programs. I will carry out an analysis of the social welfare as presented in the essay as one of the critical ideas. At first, I will try and identify some of its novelty, attractiveness, and feasibility.
Novelty
As highlighted in the essay, the social welfare program developed by Samsung incorporates three major areas, informatization of the society, environmental preservation, and the disabled. In addition, the program offer supports to the youth, and this is by supporting different aspects of culture, art, and the provision of academic scholarships. On the other hand, employees would also benefit in this program, mainly because they will acquire experience on how to help the community, hence build upon their profiles (Bong et al., 2015, p 355). I consider the idea to be novel, which ascertains its degree of creativeness. In terms of rating, I can rate the Samsung social programs at 9 from the scale of 1-10 in the case of creativity.
Attractiveness
In the case of attractiveness, the essay highlights that it is the community that tend to benefit from the welfare programs initiated by Samsung. For instance, the blind benefit from computer programs, managed by Samsung, the youths within the community are able to find scholarships. This helps them, to continue with their studies. Laughlin (201, p 21) acknowledges that one essential transformation is that this program will help in imparting computer skills to the blind people. The modern world is becoming digitalized, and to be competitive in the job market, there is a need of acquiring computer skills. The blind are disadvantaged under this sense, and this is mainly because of little programs that exist, which helps in imparting these skills to the blind. The idea of social programs pioneered by Samsung it is not only significant, but strategic too (Rolik, 2013, p 563). Even though, the idea cannot solve all the existing problems in the modern community, it at least eases the degree of existence of some critical problems. In the scale of 1-10 regarding attractiveness, I rate the idea at 8.
Feasibility
The practicability aspect is presented by Cragg (2009, p 7); he highlights that the Samsung Foundation will develop a policy or a program, and subsequently seeks ways and measures of financing these programs. Normally, it is the company, which has the responsibility of financing these programs. Employees of the organization only provide labor, and this is unpaid. As the essay affirms, another significant step that showcases the practicability of the idea is the identification of the owners of the project. For instance, this project is owned and funded by Samsung Corporation. Scott (2000) asserts that the company plays a great role in ensuring that the project under consideration moves, and is effectively implemented. There is a need of analyzing the environment in which this issue will be conducted. The idea is lively and practical. The approach entails that it is an ingenious way of the company being accountable to the communities’ welfare. I will rate the program, in terms of feasibility at 8 out of 10.
CATWOE model Even though, the CATWOE model is a notion used to analyze the effectiveness of the social programs, it is also an idea that can undergo evaluation (Wilson, 2000, p 48; Tolk & Jain, 2011, p 114). The evaluation can still fit on the novelty, attractiveness and feasibility.
Novelty
The CATWOE model is one of the novel ideas of carrying out an analysis of another idea to determine the existence of a problem and come up with a strategic solution. The system uses six major elements. It is a creative approach and there is no doubt that it is a creative approach. In the case of rating, I will give the idea 10 out of 10 in the effectiveness scale.
Attractiveness
As earlier highlighted, the CATWOE model ascertains the existence of a problem and come up with a premeditated explanation. The model analyzes the Samsung social programs based on the six major elements. The idea is attractive and solves the problem effectively. I will give the approach 9 out of 10.
Feasibility
The CATWOE model is feasible and realistic in analyzing the impact of the social programs into the society. It is evident that the model can be put into practice from the analysis carried out in the essay. Its practicability is well presented. I will give it 10 out of 10.
Part Two This part of the essay addresses the ingenious nature of Samsung services and products. I will carry out an examination of the ingenuity of Samsung’s products using the NAF approach.
Novelty
Samsung services and products have a lot of uniqueness. Innovation is an observable mark that is seen in its operations. Some of the examples highlighted in the essay include patient circumvention approach. Syrett & Lammiman (2002, p 65) asserts that the strategy involves a situation whereby the company studies the innovative products of a company, and thereafter improves on these innovations, to come up with outstanding products. As a result, Samsung receives 10 out of 10 when it comes to innovation.
Attractiveness
Most of the Samsung services and products offer solutions to the current problems. As such, Howlett (2013, p 7) ascertains that the products of Samsung have been developed out of extensive research, on the various needs of customers, and the various technological gaps that need to be closed, for purposes of coming up with innovative products. Besides, the products might not be in a perfect position to come up with the solutions to the problems that exists in the industry, but it at least close diverse gaps. As a result, I will give Samsung 7 out of 10.
Feasibility/Practicability
The creativity concept is strategic and a feasible idea in the company. The company has all the relevant resources to steer its creativeness to the next level. As acknowledged by Gookin (2014, p 45), the above approach specifically applies to the company’s electronic department, which constantly comes up with new ideas and innovations. For instance, Samsung leads in the innovation of batteries, screen technology, mobile phones and devices, and chip designs. As a result, I will give Samsung 10 out of 10 in creativity.
A Social Value analysis or Justification of Community Value Samsung is among the influential organizations in the world that encourages their employees to undertake volunteering programs and activities. For instance, the company has developed the Samsung Welfare Foundation. The welfare gives back to the community, as a way of returning the corporate benefits they acquired from the community (Williams, 2014, p 13). For volunteering programs to be significant and able to carry out their mandate, the company should have the ability to use its own money and assets. The asset-based method relates to the degree of accumulation of the company’s assets and attitude. The company uses its resources to build its image to the society and in return it increases its customer base. The essential aspect of the social programs is that the company uses its resources, for instance, money, to construct long term assets for the community. Such assets include churches, talent centres, stadiums, and schools. Value is a very strategic aspect when carrying out an analysis of social programs in the community. The essential aspect of community benevolence should be based on the concept of solidarity. Solidarity is an aspect that builds an equitable and inclusive society. The above approach entails that the benefit should do good to public rather than few privileged groups in the society. The Samsung’s social programs as seen in the essay are well-rounded and create the togetherness in the society. For instance, the blind benefit from computer programs and the youths within the community can have access to scholarships. There are other significant factors that justify the community value aspect regarding the Samsung’s benevolence concept. One factor is the leadership factor. In this case, in the local leadership, the company has strategically influenced the culture of voluntarism for diverse people. It is evident from the activities of the Samsung Welfare Foundation, which is responsible for enacting policies that guide its social programs, and the benefiting communities.
SWOT analysis of the social values The first element of the SWOT concept is strengths. I will give the strengths considering the community since it benefits a lot from these social values. One of the highlighted strengths from the essay is that the blind benefit from computer programs whereas the youths within the community have access to scholarships. Another example of strength is that employees of the organization supply labor. For instance, employees are tasked with educating this computer programs when free on a volunteering basis. Lastly, beneficiaries have access to innovative products from the company. The second element of the analysis is weaknesses. There are a number of weaknesses apparent from the essay. For instance, the Samsung’s social programs have singled out specific groups that should benefit from the program. These are mostly the less fortunate and needy individuals in the society, for example, the blind without considering other citizens without disability. Thirdly, in the case of opportunities, the blinds are supported under this program for the purposes of becoming self-sustainable. The bright and needy students can continue with their education courtesy of the program. The community, especially school-going children has access to counsels from role models from the company (Hunnicutt, 2009, p 52). The last concept in the analysis is threat. I see no possible threat of the program to the beneficiaries of the program.
