2. Describe the proposal/change. (10 points)
This proposed Rule Chapter would establish licensure requirements, application procedures and administrative proceedings for all AHCA-licensed health care facilities.It also refers what prohibited offenses are automatic disqualifiers and which are not. There are two types of screening: Level 1- means an assessment of criminal history record obatained form FDLE. Level 2- means an assessment of the criminal history record obtained through the FDLE and FBI. I work within the human resource department at the College of Medicine so this is something that I come in contact with daily.
3. Write the public comment that you would submit to this proposal. If the proposed regulation deadline has already passed, write the comment you would have submitted. Explain briefly what you wish to accomplish with your comment. (10 points)
My comment would have been in support of the proposed change. I think that there should have been regulations of who background gets screened and who doesn’t. Also, regulations on the type/level of criminal screening will be conducted. Persons who are going to be upholding a position in the healthcare industry should be screening thoroughly in order to protect our consumers/patients.
