Tag the job placement appropriately. For example, if the individual was placed by the Business Solutions team it should be tagged as a direct placement, if the graduate found their own job it should be tagged as an Indirect Placement. If the placement is a second placement it should be tagged a replacement using the option in the drop down menu.

...Growing up in the age of internet, computers, mobiles and other emerging technologies, the fast pace of innovation fascinates me. I recollect that to finish an assignment, I had to go to a friend’s place to access his computer, and in contrast to those days, I am finishing this document on my iPad today. These innovations are not only technological in nature, but also have roots in creative brilliance and sound business strategy. To understand and comprehend how these innovations were brought about, I chose to pursue my engineering in electrical and electronics from VIT Vellore, one of the leading engineering institutions in India.     During engineering, I pursued my internship at BSES Rajdhani, New Delhi’s apex power management authority. Here I worked on the Techno-management concept of Power Trading along with Indian Electricity Act and financial model used in power trading with the Power Procurement Team. It gave me deep insight into how a power trading market operates and how to use it to solve the power crisis in Delhi. Power trading was in its evolutionary phase and I used the knowledge gained from it for my Final Year Project’s financial modeling. I undertook Reactive Power Management & Trading Model Design as my topic of final year project under Mr S P Sabberwal (Former Professor at University of Manchester, U.K and Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi). It was again a techno-management study aimed to understand various complex workings and issues associated with...

Labour Law

...An Accident is the term given to “any unplanned event that causes injury, illness, property damage or harmful disruption of work process.” (Dan Hartshorn, 2003 ‘Solving Accident Investigation Problems’). There are two types of accident investigations; the first being an Accident report. This report is completed when the accident in question represents only a minor incident. It often answers the questions of ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘where’, and ‘when’ the incident occurred. The other form of Accident Investigation is and Accident-Analysis report. This is completed when the accident in question is serious and also addresses the concerns of the previously four ‘W’s’ with the addition of asking ‘why’ the incident took place. During his opening speech at the National Symposium, which was hosted by the Occupational Safety and Health Authority and Agency, Minister of Labour and Small Micro Enterprise Development Errol McLeod stated that inadequate risk assessments and failure to implement safe systems of work were contributors in more than seventy percent of the accidents that involved persons employed in the Manufacturing Sector. Upon inspections carried out by the OSH Agency, the Minister also revealed that there were under-reporting of accidents, deficiencies in contractor management and non-conformance to the requirements of the OSH Act in respect of the establishing and functioning of Safety and Health Committees. According to the OSH Act 2004, Amended and Updated, it mentions in Section...
