HW 1

1. I only give assignment if there is a need to bring some materials that will be needed for an activity/experiment or if the assignment will require collaboration between the students and their parents. I believed that the students are already spending a lot of time in school than bonding with their family. The students have the “all day” to learn and be trained in school.

The parents are the primary educators of their children. Parents help their children to value what they have learned in school. The function of the teacher is to teach the students “why the world goes round and round” or why the “sun sets” and “tides change”, etc. This learning from the school is supplemented by the parents imbuing values and appreciation to the creation of God. But if the teacher gives assignment, the opportunity for these things to happen (the interaction among the family) will be missed.

Our school does not have a clear policy regarding giving or not giving assignments, to what extent or how many assignments to give -- the decision lies with the respective teachers/departments.

2. Our academic programs undergo periodic review. Here are some of the guidelines in reviewing the program: a. identifying the relationship of the activities to the core curriculum/program (if it can be used/applied not only to one discipline but to many) b. how effective the program to the student learning is c. budget/resources d. time allotment/year long plan e. selection of better program than the previous

In the early days, only the rich and keen early adopters were able to own mobile phones, which were large in size, required a substantial source of power to operate and were limited in functionality and quite restrictive in terms of mobility. Today, over 5.6 billion subscribed devices are in active use, which represent approximately 80% of the world population and are rising. (Gartner) Improved reception power coupled with increased network coverage and penetration, global roaming capability, sharp quality, fitto-palm size with large screen and lightweight are the significants of today’s user terminals. Given such advances, the growth within the large increases of cellular use has been on mobile data. In 2011, the total mobile data service revenues were close to $315 billion (Gartner). Lte Complete Tutorial

...(Prepared from website Radio-Electronics.com with thanks http://www.radio-electronics.com/) 3G LTE Tutorial - 3GPP Long Term Evolution - developed by 3GPP, LTE, Long Term Evolution is the successor to 3G UMTS and HSPA providing much higher data download speeds and setting the foundations for 4G LTE Advanced.. LTE, Long Term Evolution, the successor to UMTS and HSPA is now being deployed and is the way forwards for high speed cellular services. In its first forms it is a 3G or as some would call it a 3.99G technology, but with further additions the technology can be migrated to a full 4G standard and here it is known as LTE Advanced. There has been a rapid increase in the use of data carried by cellular services, and this increase will only become larger in what has been termed the "data explosion". To cater for this and the increased demands for increased data transmission speeds and lower latency, further development of cellular technology have been required. The UMTS cellular technology upgrade has been dubbed LTE - Long Term Evolution. The idea is that 3G LTE will enable much higher speeds to be achieved along with much lower packet latency (a growing requirement for many services these days), and that 3GPP LTE will enable cellular communications services to move forward to meet the needs for cellular technology to 2017 and well beyond. Many operators have not yet upgraded their basic 3G networks, and 3GPP LTE is seen as the next logical step for many operators...
