...where you left off. My personal experience with Mac has never been a positive experience because i had purchased a desktop computer from Apple. However, after going through 3 different computers, HP, Asus, and Lenovo I decided to go back to apple to purchase this specific laptop. Why? because one thing i did notice was that the customer services in apple is top notch and if under warranty they take care of you Right and stand behind their product. I know that as long as i invest in an good warranty i will be well taken care of for at least 4 years which is more than what i need at this time while in school. When i purchased other computer which i will note the information below, they did not take care of me, madam wait a very long time to get my brand new computer fixed. They didn't offer loaners and they didn't care of my situation and left me with a bad impression of their products even though the price of the computer was a steal. 2. ...running Windows 8 on my Asus machine the windows operating system was installed when I purchased my machine. For my Virtual operating system I chose an Ubuntu (64bit) operating system since I had no former experience with it I will be running the operating system on the Oracle VM Box Manager. My first experience with the Virtual Operating system is that I had to go to https://www.virtualbox.org/ to download the files to use to get the program for the virtual operating system. This took some leg work for me because I wanted to make sure that I was doing this correctly I didn’t want to accidently download a virus or something that would hurt my machine or break it so to speak. I consulted http://www.pythian.com and I found that the information there seemed legitimate so I went ahead with the downloading process. When you look on the site for the Oracle VM Box Manager they do include a very detailed manual so I found the correct install for my host which is windows it only took a couple of minutes for it to download. Once downloaded you go through the wizard which is pretty straight forward but I do highly suggest keeping the manual open for a reference so that you are able to know how much RAM to allocate your guest operating system. Once you have your virtual machine named and set up with a virtual hard drive you are ready to install your guest your operating system. Don’t worry there is a wizard for this and again there is also the handy manual located on their site...

...With its brushed-aluminum design, it more closely resembles the MacBook Air than other Ultrabooks do, and it really does elicit a Zen-like feeling. Throw in an i5 processor, Bluetooth 4.0, and a USB 3.0 port, and the Zenbook UX31E is almost--but not quite--perfect. Our review model, priced at $1099 (as of November 15, 2011), sports an Intel Core i5-2557M processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid-state drive. It also features a built-in 0.3-megapixel webcam, a microphone, and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. Performance-wise, the Zenbook UX31E is surprisingly robust considering its sleek form. In our WorldBench 6 benchmark suite, the Zenbook earned a score of 125--better than several of our top-rated ultraportable laptops, including the Samsung Series 9 (which had a mark of 103), the Asus U36S (114), and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (124). This result also makes it slightly faster than the other Ultrabooks we’ve tested so far. The Zenbook has no discrete graphics card, and therefore relies on Intel's integrated graphics (as most ultraportables do). Graphics performance is slightly below average for the category: In our Far Cry 2 graphics tests, the Zenbook managed a frame rate of 31.4 frames per second (at low quality settings and 800-by-600-pixel resolution). That frame rate is below average for the past few ultraportables we've tested, but not too far below. Still, it means that the Zenbook won't satisfy gamers. The Zenbook UX31E is a breathtaking computer, different in appearance from...

...NAME: BOLAJI ABIODUN FOLORUNSO COURSE: COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE. INTRODUCTION As computer architectures become increasingly complex, more sophisticated analysis methods and optimization tools are required to harness their full performance. Technologies such as event-based sampling and expert systems are now augmenting traditional methods of performance analysis based upon profile and call graph tools. Understanding the basics of performance analysis, as well as the current state- of-the-art software optimization technologies, enables developers to pinpoint and implement solutions to application performance issues. One sophisticated processor, the Intel® Pentium® M processor, is growing in embedded application usage due to its high performance and low power utilization. The Intel Pentium M processor features Intel MMX™ and Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE, SSE2) that enable higher performance through parallel computation. Getting the most out of the processor, however, requires that developers take full advantage of these built-in performance enhancements. Software optimization technology offered by advanced compilers utilizes the enhancements in Intel Pentium M processors in a fashion conducive to embedded development. Compiler technology provides access to these extensions with low development investment while maintaining backward compatibility and minimal code size, two critical challenges in embedded software development. The key to focusing the optimization process...

...Apple Inc. Management project Apple Inc. has stakes in several areas of technology including PCs, tablets, cell phones, portable media devices, and digital music distribution. There are threats from each area that Apple has to constantly monitor and overcome. Apple uses its own OS and on its own hardware which has both advantages and disadvantages. Since Apple has more control using this method their products are high-quality or sometimes referred to as premium. However there is less room for customization and the consequences can be seen on several of their product lines. One example is in the wireless market, where new cell phones are being released frequently. Apple has the iPhone and the iOS which are only updated once a year. Meanwhile there is another highly popular OS called Android and is developed by Google and given away for free. Several cell phone manufactures then create phones and use the Android OS which can be customized by the manufacture or simply left the way it is. With different manufactures, Android based phones are released more frequently and have different features which give consumers a variety of options. Features that are a direct threat to the iPhone include increased screen size, removable storage, and more options for customization. The latest iPhones always start at $199 USD with a 2-year contract and a similar Android phone is about the same. One major issue is the fact that the $199 version has 16GB of storage and for more storage (32GB)...

...CHAPTER I Project Title Proposed Computer Virtualization of NEUST-Gabaldon Computer Laboratory Using Thin-Client Network Project Description NEUST-Gabaldon Campus (Formerly Sabani Estate Agricultural College) established their computer laboratory on 2011 which help the students of College and High School for their computer subjects (Office Productivity). Since then, the computer laboratory has its computer administrator in presence of Mr. Jefrain M. Padre, although there was computer network architecture in the campus there were times that the computer had some troubles including the System Unit and its operating system. So, the researchers decided to make a proposal entitled “Proposed Computer Virtualization of NEUST-Gabaldon Computer Laboratory Using Thin-Client Network”. The proposed project used virtualization for it was essentially lets one computer do the job of multiple computers, by sharing the resources of a single computer across multiple environments. Using an Ncomputing M300 (thin-client) series connection of network it was possible for the entire project. Thoroughly, the entire project covered up network of computer using this device (Ncomputing M300 series) to connect through a server in a series type of network. Also, using a server with a high specification it will then try to run at least one programming language that can be used by the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students of Gabaldon Campus. Project Goals/Objectives Project...
