During World War II, The United States and Japan were in constant battle with each other due to the Attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. The United States during the time was developing a nuclear weapon, and since the U.S just wanted to stop the war, the U.S bombed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in hopes of Japanese surrender. The U.S had finally succeeded in winning the war and in accomplishing Japanese surrender. Following the use of atomic bombs, many argue whether the use of atomic bombs was justified. Although the atomic bombings during World War II caused geographical devastation and suffering, the use of atomic bombs brought a quick and easy end to World War II and helped in future developments of nuclear weapons.

During the construction of the atomic bomb, the U.S had a “new and revolutionary increase in destruction to supplement the growing power of [their] armed forces.” (Doc.D) Atomic bombs had never been used before in history and after the creation of the bombs many witnessed the power they held and how quickly it can demolish and entire city that brought fear to many around the world. If there ever was another war or a situation in which other countries rival against each other, “its prevention is at the present and solemn responsibility of the United States- singled out by virtue of her lead in the field of atomic power.” (Doc.B) The atomic bomb brought mass destruction to cities and hurt Japans economy greatly, causing them to surrender. This brought fear to many people following the war, due to was witnessed of after the bombs hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, helping aid in preventing another war from
