Atul Gawande, the original speaker for “How do we heal medicine?” is very passionate for his idea that perhaps there is something else going on as to why not everyone is getting better. It does not have to do with the cost of health care either. It has to do with the fact that we need our medical staff to become our personal “pit crews” as Gawande relates. He tries to explain that maybe it just isn’t the cost of medicine and care that’s the problem, maybe it’s the medicine and care itself.
It has become common today to dismiss the idea that not all medical crews are fully prepared. Many people tend to assume that since you have a medical degree, that automatically means they can trust you with their life. While I want to believe that all medical
