Augustus Nathaniel Lushington was born August 1, 1869 in south caribbean on the island of trinidad. As a young child his parental grandfather from DR Congo was brought to trinidad as a slave to work at the sugar plantation in the south and north of trinidad. Augustus was a doctor veterinarian and the white men refused to pay him so he worked two jobs being a meat inspector and a probation officer to earn more money to take care for him and his wife. Augustus Lushington went to a teacher training school and worked at trinidad classrooms for about seven years and then was promoted to the rank of a principal.
But soon later he left to go to venezuela.Where he worked as a clerk in the town of Guyra for about 4 years.
