Business opportunities in Indonesia include agribusiness, Automotive industry, business and financial services, construction and in frastructure, information and communication technology, e-commerce, education and training, environmental products and services, food and beverages, fresh produce, health and medical provisions, mining and mineral services, oil and petroleum drilling, transport and storage and science and technology, etc.
In cross-cultural behavior perspective, Indonesian workplaces values long-term relationship to produce a profit as first priority.For example, about how first contact should be made and how appointments should be set and kept. In order to achieve productivity and effectiveness, Indonesian managers usually place more values on harmony, understanding , and mutual respect. Sometimes those characteristics weights more than job performance and productivity. Maintaining the harmony of the office has became a tradition in Indonesian office, sometimes bad news may not be communicated to the boss in order to matain the office harmony. Also, In indonesian workplace, workers expect their supervisors to look after their interests rather as parents do for their children; and their supervisors understand and accept this responsibility. Another characteristic of indonesian workplace is that the person who delivers bad news to one’s boss is felt very keenly by Indonesian employees, and this needs to be taken into account by supervisors and managers.
4. How does the population appear to socially stratified? There are 230 million people in Indonesia, and there are very obvious socia-economic disparties in all regions of the country. At the top of the structure are wealthy elites, below them an increasingly demanding middle class, and at the bottom and impoverished majority.

The focus then shifts to the abrupt closure of three-quarters of the Australian stores in mid 2008. Several reasons for these closures are described and examined, including that: Starbucks overestimated their points of differentiation and the perceived value of their supplementary services; their service standards declined; they ignored some golden rules of international marketing; they expanded too quickly and forced themselves upon an unwilling public; they entered late into a highly competitive market; they failed to communicate the brand; and their business model was unsustainable.
